Two residents of Kumasi in the Ashanti region have been arrested for reportedly pelting the convoy of President John Mahama with stones.

The suspects were among a group of residents who were hooting at the president who is currently in the Ashanti region for his ‘accounting to the people tour’.

According to StarrFMonline.com sources, one of the vehicles in the convoy has been mildly dented and one person injured as a result of the attack.

The incident took place at Ejisu, where the president visited this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the President is expected to pay a courtesy call on the Asantehene and his traditional council at the Manhyia palace later this afternoon. He will then proceed to commission one of the two newly constructed community senior high schools in the area.
