Nurse charged for raping psychiatric patient

A staff of Valley View Psychiatric Clinic located at Dzorwulu, a suburb of Accra has been arraigned before court for allegedly having carnal knowledge of a mentally challenged patient of the clinic.

Joshua Penin who works at the Valley View Psychiatric Clinic was said to have raped the patient at the clinic on two occasions.

He appeared in Court on Monday and was charged with having carnal knowledge of a mentally challenged patient contrary to section 102 of the criminal code.

The court, presided over by Mrs Abena Adjin - Doku granted the 28-year-old bail in the sum of GH¢20,000 and adjourned the case to July 11, 2016
