Man, 40, beats 46-year-old wife to death

Ama Osah, a 46-year-old trader at the Dansoman market in Accra has been beaten to death by her 40-year-old husband, Kwabena Hemeng.

Narrating the incident to, Frank Darlington Herman, a freelancer said the incident occurred Tuesday night after a misunderstanding between the couple.

“The couple who have been married for ten years with two children have been having a series of misunderstanding for some time now," Herman said.
Herman added that "the deceased who was under the weather as a result of a previous assault from her husband was sleeping when her husband came in to put on the ceiling fan in their bedroom.

"She then asked her daughter to put it off but her husband got provoked and started beating her with chairs and anything he laid his hands on. After the severe beating, he locked the deceased out of the room," Herman narrated.

According to Herman,the deceased who spent the night in the room of the landlady started complaining of severe pains and her inability to free her bowls.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The husband has been arrested and is currently in police custody at the Dansoman police station assisting with investigations.

Meanwhile, activities at the Dansoman Market has come to a halt in solidarity of the deceased.
