Justin Bieber Settles Lawsuit With Photographer Allegedly Beaten By Bodyguard

Justin Bieber has settled his lawsuit with a Miami photographer named Manuel Munoz, who alleged that one of the singer’s bodyguards beat him up in a Subway restaurant in 2014. The terms of the settlement are confidential, but both sides agreed Munoz will be paid an undisclosed amount over the incident.

As Gossip Cop reported in May 2014, Munoz sued Bieber after a fight with his bodyguard Dwayne Patterson, who was accused of attacking the paparazzo for taking pictures of the pop star. The alleged incident occurred as Munoz snapped a shot of Bieber leaving SET Nightclub, resulting in Patterson supposedly chasing the photog into the restroom of a nearby Subway sandwich shop. From there, Munoz claimed the bodyguard kicked and punched him before stealing his camera’s memory card.

On Monday, Bieber settled the lawsuit immediately before he would have been forced to sit down for a deposition in Miami. The judge ruled that if the case wasn’t settled by the end of October, all parties involved would be questioned by the other’s attorneys, but the singer will now avoid that process. As Gossip Cop also noted, the alleged Subway altercation went down the same night in January 2014 that Bieber was arrested for DUI and drag racing in Miami.
