No Library, No Computer Lab For 130 Year Old School

The Berekusu Basic School is celebrating 130 years of existence after the Presbyterian Missionaries established it in 1886.

The school’s population currently stands at seven hundred and sixty-six (766) but lacks many amenities which makes one wonder if it is indeed 130 years old.

The headmistress of Berekusu Basic School, Margaret Woyuhintum speaking during the 130th anniversary of the school said the school has no library and no computer lab.

She revealed further that the most unfortunate part is that the B stream has lessons under trees and canopies, adding that there is no teacher’s common room.

The Chief of Berekuso, Nana Oteng Korankye II during his speech at the event warned encroachers of Berekuso Basic School land to stop or face his wrath. He noted that the school land is for expansion and development for the pupils as well as the Secondary school yet to be built.

Nana Oteng Korankye said it is an honour for the town to have been able to maintain the school for such a …

Rawlings was a 'bully' – Konadu

Former President JJ Rawlings was a bully when he was in school, his wife and classmate has revealed.

According to Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, the man who later became her husband, was a guy who bullied his way through, during their days in school.

“We were in the same class.. And I hate to say it but he was a bully,” the NDP flagbearer told Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Starr 103.5 FM.

She added that she has been by the side of the former military leader for many years because she loves him for who he is and not his personality or status in life.

“There are three types of women on earth. The ones who love for the sake of love; like me, the ones who will love you because you have a position, and the ones who will love you because you have some money. They come and you don’t have the money, they are gone, they come and your power is finished, they are gone.”

The 31st December Women’s Movement founder also noted that she is contesting the presidency again because the foundation f…
