Tic Tac Sues Melcom

Musician, Tic Tac known in private life as Nana Kweku Duah has dragged shopping giant, Melcom Ghana Limited to an Accra Human Rights High Court for breach of contract.According to him in the suit, which was filed yesterday, July 28, the company continues to use his image after his two years contract with them ended on May 31, 2011.Due to that act her terms as illegal that he has taken legal action against them for breach of contract praying the court for damages.

According to his statement of claim, he is asking the court for a declaration that the continuous use of his images on Melcom’s billboard in the absence of a valid contract, violates the express terms of the contract executed on May 21, 2009,
 He is also praying the court for an order directed at Melcom to remove his images from any of their billboards across the country forthwith.

Daily Graphic reporter charged with contempt of Parliament

Daily Graphic reporter Mark-Anthony Vinorkor has been charged for contempt of parliament, according to Starr FM’s Parliamentary correspondent Kobby Gomez Mensah.

The charge is based on his publication in the state-owned newspaper on the CI 94 which takes care of the upcoming elections.

The reporter will go through the same processes Blakk Rasta was subjected to and appear before the Bar of the House for sanctions.
He is also expected to render an unqualified apology to the House, purging himself of the contempt charge.

Graphic Communications Group will also be made to render an unqualified apology to the House and print three apologies in their print and electronic media at the paper's cost.

Tiwa Savage has finally made her debut feature on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio, hosted by Hot 97’s radio presenter, Ebro.

In the interview which went live yesterday in New York, the Mavin queen proudly noted that she is Africa’s most popular female artiste.

Daasebre Gyamenah’s Body Arrives In Koforidua (Photos)

The mortal remains of highlife musician, Daasebre Gyamenah has arrived in Koforidua. The remains arrived in Koforidua on Friday around 1 p.m and has been deposited at the St. Joseph Hospital Morgue.

The remains of the musician were conveyed from the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) where he passed away Friday, while he was on admission.
Family sources says the highlife musician, who was a Muslim, died of a heart-related disease. Daasebre Gyamenah’s family earlier Friday stated that they will not allow the late musician to be buried in line with Islamic tradition.

According to the family, the musician, although a Muslim will not be buried in line with Islamic tradition because he was a royal from the New Juaben Traditional Area.

Scores of wailing people including family members welcomed the body at the St. Joseph Hospital Morgue.

We Don’t Want Islamic Burial – Daasebre Gyamenah’s Family

Daasebre Gyamenah’s family say they won’t allow the late musician to be buried hours after he died in line with Islamic tradition.
According to the family, the musician, although he was a Muslim, he will not be buried in line with Islamic tradition because he was a royal from the New Juaben Traditional Area.

The remains of the musician has been conveyed from the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) en route to Koforidua.
Daasebre Gyamenah, 44, according to his manager Papa Loggy, passed away Friday, while he was on admission at the 37 Military Hospital.
Papa Loggy confirmed on Daybreak Hitz with KMJ that the late artiste had not been well for some time now and had been in and out of the hospital.
The late musician’s manager explained to Myjoyonline.com that Daasebre’s wife informed him that the highlife artiste was on admission at the 37 Military Hospital where he died Friday morning.
His body, he added, was then transferred to the KBTH morgue.

Daasebre Dwamena To Be Buried Today

Legendary Highlife Musician Daasebre Dwamena whose untimely demise occurred this morning Friday July 29, 2016, is reportedly going be buried today.

According to Daasebre's manager who spoke on Peace FM News at 12 this afternoon, the Singer was a Muslim before he died and the religion demands that a deceased person is buried on the same day of death. He added that Daasebre's Muslim name is Abukal Sidik.

At the time of filing this report, family of Daasebre had concluded all arrangements and his mortal remains is currently on the road from Accra to Koforidua where he lived with his family and he is expected to be buried there later today.

Strong earnings from Amazon and a boost to the company's stock have made its founder, Jeff Bezos, the world's third richest person, according to Forbes. 
Mr Bezos owns 18% of Amazon's shares, which rose 2% in trading on Thursday. Forbes estimated his fortune to be $65.3bn (£49.5bn).
Amazon's revenue beat analysts' expectations, climbing 31% from last year to $30.4bn in the second quarter. Profit for the e-commerce giant was $857m, compared with $92m in 2015. 
According to Forbes estimates, Mr Bezos's fortune is only surpassed by Microsoft founder Bill Gates, worth $78bn (£59bn), and the $73.1bn (£55bn) fortune of Zara founder Amancio Ortega.

Montie FM Trio Taken To Nsawam Prison

The two panelists, and the host of the ‘Pampaso’ show on Accra-based Montie FM, who were convicted  of contempt and jailed  by the Supreme Court on Wednesday, have been taken to the country’s major prison facility at Nsawam.
Alistair Nelson, Godwin Ako Gunn and Salifu Maase, alias Mugabe, were sentenced to serve four months in jailon Wednesday, after being found guilty of contempt by the apex court, for threatening the lives of the judges who were presiding over a case on the credibility of the voters’ register.
One of the lawyers of the trio, George Loh, confirmed this on Eyewitness News on Thursday.
“My understanding is that they are at the Nsawam prison” he said, when quizzed by the host of the show, Richard Dela Sky, on the whereabouts of the convicts.

Candle Light Vigil Held For Jailed Montie 3 (Photos]

Some die-hard supporters of the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC), believed to be ardent followers of the ‘Pampamso’ political show on Accra-based Montie FM, hosted by Maase Salifu, alias Mugabe, have held a candle light vigil in honour of Mugabe, and the two panelists of the station, who are languishing in jail at Nsawam, after they were found guilty of contempt charges by the Supreme Court.

The three were sentenced to four months in prison and fined Ghc10, 000 each, after they threatened to kill Supreme Court judges over their handling of the lawsuit on Ghana’s voters’ register. Montie FM, a pro-government radio station owned senior members of the NDC, is the Twi affiliate to Radio Gold.

The candle light vigil, which started at 7:00pm on Thursday at the premises of Radio Gold at Latebiokoshie in Accra, saw several individuals mostly clad in white, holding their candles.

Some were seen saying prayers for the three.
