I didn’t collapse after 2007 NPP congress – Apraku

A former presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku has dismissed reports that he collapsed after the party’s primaries in 2007.

Reports suggested that the former Trades Minister collapsed after he learnt that he had obtained a meagre 19 votes in the presidential primary which elected Nana Akufo-Addo as the presidential candidate.

But speaking about the incident for the first time on Starr Chat Wednesday, the former Member of Parliament for Offinso said he was shocked by his performance in the race but did not collapse.

“Absolutely not true, I did not obtain one vote…I was absolutely surprised, I thought we had done my work but given the number of people in the race I think we lost focus.”

The Investment Banker tipped the flagbearer of the NPP to win this year’s election saying “Nana Addo is very focused…and not going to allow anything to come his way.”

Former CNN anchor, Zain Verjee builds aKoma Media

Former CNN anchor, Zain Verjee has started aKoma Media, a digital media network focused on African storytelling. Find out why!!!

It’s been a two-year breathless roller coaster going from Big Name Global Corporation to Just Me LLC.

After an amazing fourteen years at CNN and magnificent personal and professional life experiences, it was time to reinvent myself. I was at the top of my game, but I had flat-lined. There was no more growth. I needed inspiration. I needed to regain a sense of control. I joined CNN at 25. I was 40. I could no longer see a clear path forward.

The only avenue where I felt in charge of myself was writing. I was accepted into a two-year Mastersprogram in Creative Writing at Oxford University. It offered me a psychological outlet in prose and poetry, which also allowed me to pivot professionally and seek an alternative path forward.

Months after leaving CNN, there was a moment of deep dread when I realized reinvention was not simply hitting reset. Revival do…

Gospel musicians are womanizers – Gospel songstress

Gospel songstress, Esther Nyamekye in an interview with Happy FM’s Ayekoo hosted by DJ Adviser has disclosed that the new crop of gospel musicians have reduced the soul-winning campaign into womanizing.

“We are now heading in a different direction.” She told Mercy B in a phone interview. “Because the mentality behind the music is different. And anything that is not in line with the word of God is not of God.

“It’s now things of the flesh. People want to be seen instead of promoting the gospel through the music, they are are promoting themselves for the money. The men are now womanizers and the women promiscuous. I call it the three G’s. Gold, Glory and Girls. That’s all the music is about these days.”

The sentence has however been received with mixed reactions, with largely members of the NDC claiming it is too harsh.

Top officials of the NDC both in government …

US election: Anger over Donald Trump gun rights remarks

Republican Donald Trump has sparked anger by appearing to suggest his supporters could stop his rival Hillary Clinton by exercising their gun rights.

He said that Mrs Clinton would put liberal justices on the Supreme Court if she wins the presidency in November, threatening gun ownership rights.

Speaking at a rally in North Carolina, Mr Trump hinted that gun rights advocates could stop her taking power.

That sparked an online backlash, many accusing him of inciting violence.
He replied that he was only urging gun rights supporters to vote in large numbers.

The remarks that sparked the firestorm were made at a rally in Wilmington on Tuesday afternoon.

The Republican presidential nominee said of his Democratic opponent: "Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish the Second Amendment. By the way, and if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks.

Asensio opened the scoring in the 21st minute when he received the ball 30 yards from goal, took a touch, picked his spot and fired into the top corner.
Sevilla nearly equalised 10 minutes later with Daniel Carrico’s shot from distance, but Real keeper Kiko Casilla got down to save.
However, Sevilla were back level four minutes before half-time when Vitolo brought a cross down on his chest at the top of the box, and Vazquez picked it up and shot past Casilla.
