Only N6million has been raised to save Nollywood actor

Nigeriafilms.com has been keeping close tabs on ailing Nollywood actor, Leo Mezie, who is down with Kidney failure.

Well, there seems to be some progress in raising the money but it has been on a slow pace also considering the rise in the exchange rate which keeps increasing by the day.
The amount needed for the kidney transplant is N10 Million and for now, according to Nollywood actress, Chioma Okoye, who has been visiting him from time to time, the amount realized now is just N6 Million.

Chioma affirmed that some Nollywood practitioners have been contributing along with well meaning Nigerians but the amount realized is not enough as his Visa is currently ready for him to travel once the money is complete.

She also noted that a bank statement of those that have donated will be made available to the press if need be as she begged Nigerians to come to his aide.

Chelsea: David Luiz set to return to Stamford Bridge from PSG

Chelsea have agreed terms with Paris St-Germain for defender David Luiz's return to Stamford Bridge for a fee of around £34m.
Luiz, 29, travelled to London for a medical as the Blues confirmed the signing of left-back Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina for a reported £23m.
Chelsea tweeted that they had reached agreement with PSG to re-sign Luiz two years after he left for Paris. The deal is subject to Luiz agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.
Luiz joined French champions PSG on a five-year deal after appearing for Brazil at the 2014 World Cup.

PSG are reported to have paid £40m for him two years ago - £6m more than Chelsea have bid to re-sign him.
Luiz joined the Blues from Benfica for £21.3m in January 2011 and made 143 appearances for the club.
He had three years left on the five-year contract he signed in September 2012 when he joined Ligue 1 club. Meanwhile, Alonso moves to the Premier League for the third time in his career.
The uncapped Spaniard, 25, played for Bolton 46 time…

He reunites with former coach, Olaroiu Cosmin after passing medicals at the club Wednesday after failing an earlier one with English Championship side, Reading.

Rawlings 'sacks' male help; chooses female

At Special Congregation of the University for Development Studies to confer an honorary degree on him in 2013, former President Jerry John Rawlings drew laughter from the audience when he 'sacked' a man who had wanted to help hold the microphone for him.

'I think I prefer the lady' Rawlings told the man who had come to relieve the woman holding the mic.

" Oh this little warmth too you want enjoy too [you want to take away from me], Rawlings laughed.

BREAKING: Brazil's Rousseff Dilma removed from office by impeachment vote

Brazil's Senate has voted to remove President Dilma Rousseff from office for manipulating the budget.
It puts an end to 13 years in power of her left-wing Workers' Party. Ms Rousseff denies the charges. 
Sixty-one Senators voted in favour of her impeachment and 20 against, meeting the two-thirds majority needed to remove her from the presidency.
Acting President Michel Temer will serve out Ms Rousseff's term, which ends on 1 January 2019.
Mr Temer, from the centre-right PMDB party, is expected to be officially sworn in later on Wednesday. 'Coup d'etat'Ms Rousseff had been suspended in May after the Senate voted to go ahead with the impeachment process.
She was accused of moving funds between government budgets, which is illegal under Brazilian law.
Her critics said she was trying to plug deficit holes in popular social programmes to boost her chances of being re-elected for a second term in October 2014.

Bibi Bright Chooses Nana Addo Over Mahama

Actress Bibi Bright says she is for Nana Addo. The mother of one did not follow John Dumelo, Tracey Boakye and others to endorse president Mahama ahead of this year’s election.

In a snapchat and Instagram post on Tuesday evening, she openly said that she wants Ghanaians to vote the sitting president out of office.

She posted a picture of the politician who ran for President of Ghana in the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections as the New Patriotic Party candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and wrote:

“#TheBattleIsTheLord’s. #Npp #IAm4Change #NanaAkuffoAddo”.

When a fan commented that president Mahama should be given another term to complete his works, she replied that he shouldn’t worry because Nana Addo will finalize what he has started.

Another Shake-Up Hits Police Service

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), John Kudalor, has made yet another reshuffle in the top hierarchy of the police service, with barely four months to the polls in December.
This is the IGP’s fourth reshuffle since his appointment in November 2015.
In the latest shake-up, ninety officers with various portfolios at the national headquarters, and others serving as district commanders among others were affected.
Notable among them is ACP Nuhu Alhassan Jango, Nima Divisional Police Commander who is now heading to the Eastern Region as a 2i/c. ACP Peter Gyimah of the Community Policing Unit in the Ashanti Region, is now the Wenchi Divisional Commander.
Supt. Gladys Mpere of the Osu District Command, has been transferred to the Madina District Command. Supt. Victoria Yamoah of the Kwabenya District is now headed to the MTTD, Tarkwa Division in the Western Region to head the department.

Music Producer George Forest Is Dead

George Forest, a Ghanaian sound recording engineer, has died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

The Kumasi-based sound engineer passed on early Wednesday morning after battling an undisclosed illness, a member of the family disclosed.

George Forest came into the music industry at the age of 12 with Nana Acheampong, Akwesi Ampofo Adjei, Nana Aboagye Da Costa among others.

Forest has also recorded songs for several musicians including Philippa Baafi, Obaapa Christy, Nana Acheampong, and Osuani Afrifa.

Breaking News: Asamoah Gyan secures a loan deal with UAE side Al Ahli

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has signed a loan deal with UAE side Al Ahli after passing a medical examination on Wednesday.​
Gyan arrived in Dubai Wednesday morning to put pen to paper after failing to seal a deal with English Championship side Reading FC.

His move to Ahli signifies a sensational return to the United Arab Emirates after leaving giants Al Ain to join Chinese Club Shanghai SIPG.
He is expected to join his Black Stars teammates after sorting out his move to Al Ahli.

Cameroonian Football Star Fired By Club For Testing HIV Positive 4 Days After Signing Contract

Cameroonian football player Samuel Nlend has been sacked by a top Egyptian football club after tests revealed he was HIV positive. Egyptian Premier League side Al Ittihad sacked the 21-year-old just four days after signing a three year contract with him.
Egyptian news outlet KingFut.com reported that a media representative of the club confirmed the news to the press. Nlend is regarded as one of Cameroon's brightest soccer prospects. He scored in January's Africa Cup of Nations tournament. He also finished the last Cameroonian soccer league as the top scorer with his former club, Union Douala.

Prof. Martey Lied About $100k Bribe and V8 – Former Presby PRO

Former public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Dr. Emmanuel Osei Acheampong has disclosed that the immediate past Moderator of the church, Prof. Emmanuel Martey indeed took money and a vehicle from some politicians.
This however contradicts earlier claims by the respected man of God who claimed otherwise and said he almost unleashed his dogs on the said politicians who came to bribe him.
According to him, Prof Martey is throwing dust in the eyes of the public after denied receiving money from the unnamed politicians.
Speaking to Kasapa News’ Akwasi Nsiah, the former PRO explained that a leading member of one of the opposition parties presented the money to him (Prof. Emmanuel Martey), indicating that  claims he refused the money are false.

Obinim to face court over GH¢217,000 illegal electricity connection

Controversial leader and founder of the International God's Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim is to face court in a GH¢217,000 illegal electricity connection case.
The Accra East branch of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is taking the man of God to court for an illegal power connection. 
He is said to have fixed some new post-paid electricity meters at his guest house, OB TV premises and his personal residence. 
The Loss Control Coordinator of the Company, Jonathan Asante said after the old meters were blocked for non-payment of GH¢27,000 bills Mr Obinim replace them with new ones.

Checks by meter readers on the new meters between March and August this year shows the embattled pastor has accumulated a bill to the tune of GH¢217,000.
Mr Asante said the pastor popularly called “angel” by his congregation is expected to face a special court on September 3 adding that payment of old debt is a recovery of the debt owed.

US election 2016: Donald Trump to visit Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto

US Republican candidate Donald Trump is to visit Mexico on Wednesday, hours before he details measures against illegal immigration in a speech.
Mr Trump tweeted that he was looking forward to meeting President Enrique Pena Nieto, who has invited both him and Democrat Hillary Clinton.
Mr Pena Nieto said dialogue would help "protect Mexicans wherever they are".
Mr Trump has condemned Mexican migrants during his campaign and vowed to build a wall between the two countries.
He will visit Mexico in between a fundraising event in California and his immigration speech in Phoenix, Arizona, on Wednesday night.
The Republican has seen his poll ratings slip since the party conventions last month.
Both nationally and in key states, he trails Mrs Clinton, who enjoys particularly strong support among minorities. The Mexican president said he had invited both candidates for talks and would meet Trump in private on Wednesday.
