Mentoring is a buzzword these days, and many organisations use it for a variety of purposes, from talent management, to leadership development, to knowledge transfer and succession planning.

As somebody who has been working for over ten years facilitating and implementing mentoring programmes across the UK and internationally, I am not only a passionate advocate of mentoring but also an experienced challenger of programmes that are put in place without serious consideration being given to the needs, aims, context and circumstances in which they are supposed to develop and flourish.
In case you are beginning to question where this article is going, let me tell you a few things loud and clear:

• mentoring is not for everyone
• mentoring may not work for your organization
• mentoring may not be your staff’s ‘cup of tea’

Therefore, before thinking about a mentoring programme for your business, department, division or indeed your entire organisation, consider what is required for the p…

Don’t beg Satan for money and fame – Rev Owusu Bempah

Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah, General Overseer of Glorious Way Chapel, an Accra-based Christian prophetic ministry, has advised Ghanaian musicians and film makers to rather exercise patience and rely more on God in their search for money and fame instead of consulting other mediums, as the consequences are horrific.

“I am pleading with Ghana’s celebrities and stars who want fame and money to exercise patience, to rely more on God and wait for God’s own time even as they continue to work hard.

There are some of them who are in a rush for money and fame so they consult all manners of occult spirits, deities and satanic spirits. Some even sell their soul to the devil.

“When you consult bad spirits to become famous, they take something back from you. It is not for free. Such consultations of false spirits come with terms and conditions. When you forget to obey such rules, they strike you with diseases and strange sicknesses which lead to death and other horrifying experiences,” Rev…

'I stand by what I said. The problem for Cristiano is that there is another who is pretty much the best player in history. I saw that he didn’t take it well, but I keep thinking the same. What he said to me about the Ballon d’Ors is true [that Xavi hasn’t won one]. I didn’t lack respect, but my opinion doesn’t change. He lacked it for me? What do you think?'
Xavi also admitted that Ronaldo could be the favourite to cl…

He wasn’t exactly mad about the charge, he said the hospital did a great job delivering his son. Instead, it more of spoke to the absurdity of American health care.
He said:
During the C-section the nurse asked my wife if she would like to do skin to skin after the baby was born. Which of course anyone would say yes too. We just noticed it in the bill today. The nurse let me hold the baby on my wife's neck/chest. Even borrowed my camera to take a few pictures for us. Everyone involved in the process was great, and we had a positive experience. We just got a chuckle out of seeing that on the bill."
