U.S. President Barack Obama on Tuesday scolded Donald Trump over his repeated claims that the upcoming Nov. 8 election was "rigged" against him, telling the Republican presidential candidate to "stop whining."
At a joint news conference in the White House Rose Garden following meetings with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, Obama was asked about Trump's claims that U.S. cities are rife with voter fraud and that there were efforts to "rig the election at the polling place."
"I'd invite Mr. Trump to stop whining and go try to make his case to get votes," Obama advised.
For many months, Trump has raised the possibility of illegal activities that could tarnish the November election result, and he has urged his supporters to show up at polling locations on Election Day.
In recent days, Trump's rhetoric at campaign appearances and on social media about a rigged election has intensified as his standing in public opinion polls has f…

' I choose Cristiano Ronaldo over Lionel Messi' - Football legend Ronaldo says

Brazil football legend Ronaldo da Lima has revealed that he prefers Real Madrid star player Cristiano Ronaldo over Barcelona star player Lionel Messi. Speaking during an interview on Onda Cero's "El Transistor" radio show on Monday, Ronaldo said;
"They are three great players," the 40-year-old said. "I would also include Luis Suarez as he is playing very well. This is the most common question in all interviews -- I don't know if it is just for me, or for everyone, but when we ask this question we forget that they are three great players.

"It is so difficult to choose just one as the best. They are very, very good. At the moment I will choose Cristiano as he is playing for Real Madrid, but we cannot forget how good Messi and Neymar are, and we must respect these players for the entertainment they bring us. I would like to see Coutinho at Real Madrid, the Liverpool player," Ronaldo also talked about Luis Figo’s attractive wife Helen …

Netflix shares soar as video service posts jump in subscribers

Netflix has shaken off growth worries with new subscriber numbers that beat estimates and sent its shares soaring.
The video streaming company added 3.2 million international customers in the last three months, far more than the 2 million analysts had predicted.
In the US, numbers rose 21% to 370,000 as hit shows such as Stranger Things and Narcos won over more subscribers.

It helped quarterly revenues rise 31% to $2.29bn (£1.88bn), sparking a 20% jump in Netflix's share price. In the three months to the end of September Netflix had about 83.3 million subscribers.
The company said on Monday that it plans to license content to existing online service providers in China rather than operate its own service in China in the near term.
Netflix has been expanding in international markets to counter slowing growth in the US. The service has a strong presence in more than 130 markets worldwide, except China.
Concern that Netflix's growth was slowing had overshadowed the company. Its …

Nigerian man with 97 wives says he is still 'very much alive'

Nigeria’s most famous polygamist has denied rumours of his death, saying he is still “very much alive” at 92 years old, and plans to continue taking more wives.
Mohammed Bello Abubakar is a controversial figure in the town of Bida, Niger state, where he has married more than 100 women in what he describes as a “divine” calling.

The cleric has no discernible income, and has clashed in the past with the local Islamic authorities, who describe his larger-than-average household as a cult.

He has outlived the majority of his 185 children, and told reporters the latest rumour of his death was the work of unspecified “detractors”. A media report suggested he had died after a brief illness.

“My dear, I am very much alive, hale and hearty,” he told Nigeria’s Vanguard newspaper.

“The rumour is baseless and can best be described as the work of my detractors because they envy what God has done and what He is still doing for me.

“What I am doing is divine. It is an assignment and I will keep…

Tyson Gay, thousands in vigil for sprinter's slain daughter

Thousands of people joined Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay at a candlelight vigil Monday night on a Kentucky high school track honoring Gay's 15-year-old daughter, who was fatally shot over the weekend.
Gay stood on the track at Lexington's Lafayette High School where he and daughter Trinity excelled and he thanked people for showing support after the girl's death early Sunday after gunfire erupted outside a restaurant in that city. The teen's mother, Shoshana Boyd, also was present amid the crowd honoring her memory.

"I want you guys to love each other, have peace and protect each other," said Gay, who added that he was numb from crying over her death. "That's what Trinity would have wanted. ... Life is not a joke."

Many in the crowd wore pink and purple — Gay's favorite colors — with some holding balloons of those same hues that were later released into the air. Several pairs of track spikes hung from a fence along with a baton that said…

Kofi Annan's name pops up in Akwamu chieftaincy dispute

The King of Akyem Abuakwa, Amoatia Ofori Panyin II, has invited former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, to the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs to resolve a long-drawn-out chieftaincy dispute.
Kofi Annan is said to be leading one of two royal families involved in the six-year-old wrestle for a chieftaincy title in the  Akwamu Traditional Area in the Eastern Region.
Myjoyonline.com sources say the adjudicators at the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, where the matter is being heard, believe the presence of the respected Diplomat would fast-track the resolution of the dispute.

The dispute broke in 2011 when the Queen Mother of the Botwe royal family, Akwamu Nana Afrakoma, took steps to enstool Nana Kwabena Owiredu ( aka Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III ) as Omanhene of Akwamu Traditional Area.
In a bid to stop the process, the rival Ansaa royal family referred the matter to a High Court in Koforidua, but that did not stop the Botwe family from installing Nana Owiredu as chief of the Akwa…

US election: Donald Trump accusers telling lies, says Melania

Melania Trump has insisted that her husband is a "gentleman" and that the women who allege that he sexually assaulted them are lying.
She also said that lewd comments Donald Trump made about women that were caught on videotape were unacceptable but did not represent the man she knows.
The Republican presidential nominee was guilty of "boy talk" but was "egged on" by TV host Billy Bush, she added.
The tape prompted dozens of Republicans to drop their support for him.

In the video, Mr Trump tells Mr Bush, who was then host of NBC's Access Hollywood, that he can force himself on women because he's a star.
Several women have since come forward and accused Mr Trump of sexual assault, which he denies.
"I know he respects women but he is defending himself because they are lies," Mrs Trump said in an interview with CNN
"I believe my husband," she said. "My husband is kind and he is a gentleman and he would never do that."
