Leicester City sack manager, Craig Shakespeare

Leicester City Football Club has parted ways with its first team manager, Craig Shakespeare.

According to the club, Michael Appleton will be in charge of the First Team as Caretaker Manager for Saturday’s Premier League trip to Swansea City, supported by First Team Coaches Mike Stowell and Adam Sadler.

A primary school has apologised after a letter was sent asking pupils to dress as slaves for an event to mark Black History Month.

Pupils at St Winefride’s Catholic Primary School in Newham, east London, were told to wear “dirty and worn out” clothes stained with tea or coffee.

Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire have agreed to set up a strategic co-operation framework, and have signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement (SAP), to that end, which will give new momentum to Ivorian-Ghanaian co-operation.

This agreement covers the areas of Defence and Security; Cocoa and cashew economy and other strategic crops; Maritime cooperation; Mining, energy and environment; Transport; and Economic policies.

Donald Trump's net worth drops by a whooping $600 million in new Forbes' list

The Forbes list of 400 richest Americans shows that US President, Donald Trump's fortune fell by $600 million to $3.1 billion. As a result he dropped to #248 on the list, after coming in at #156 last year.

The magazine attributed his decline in wealth to "a tough New York real estate market, particularly for retail locations; a costly lawsuit and an expensive presidential campaign."

A prison warder whose photos showing her hugging and kissing an inmate committed suicide on Monday, after the images went viral on social media.

Four pictures showing the unidentified female prison warder from the Losperfontein Correctional Service Centre near Brits in North West posing in uniform with a male prisoner were shared by Facebook and Twitter users yesterday.

Tunisia top African rankings for first time since 2002

Tunisia have moved top of  Fifa's African rankings for the first time in 15 years. 

The last time the North Africans were ranked the best team on the continent was back in January 2002, a position the Carthage Eagles had assumed the previous July.

Hurricane Ophelia kills 3 and leaves 360,000 without power in Ireland

On Monday, Ireland was hit by Hurricane Orphelia in what officials called an "unprecedented storm" that left three people dead, more than 300,000 customers without power and shut down schools as well as government offices. 

A police spokesman said one woman in her 50s was killed outside the village of Aglish, near the south coast, when a tree fell on her car. A female passenger in her 70s suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A first-time Kenyan MP has been asked to apologise after posting a message with sex tips on his constituency WhatsApp group, the local Daily Nation newspaper reports.

Anthony Kiai, also known as Highflyer, appeared to have forwarded the message innocently, and asked members of the group to ignore it after he realised his mistake, it reports.

Game of Thrones actor dies: Set world record for narrating the show's audiobooks

British actor Roy Dotrice has died at the age of 94.

Dotrice was known to Game of Thrones fans for his brief role as Wisdom Hallyne the pyromancer in season 2. But more impressively, he also read the audiobooks for George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, and holds the Guinness World Record for the most characters voiced by a single actor in an audiobook — 223 in the saga’s first novel, A Game of Thrones, the audiobook for which is 33 hours long.

Former al-Shabab leader donates blood to help victims of Mogadishu bombing

Mukhtar Roobow, a former commander in Somalia's militant Islamist group al-Shabaab has been photographed donating blood to survivors of the truck bombing in the capital, Mogadishu.

Robow defected to the government over the weekend.  He was one of the founders of al-Shabab, along with other radical leaders following the defeat of the Islamic Courts Union in late 2006.

Police announce temporary closure of public roads in Accra on Monday
