According to TMZ, Jay Z and Beyonce have named their twins Rumi and Sir Carter.

They said they know this because the company run by the couple that owns the trademarks to their names just filed legal docs to secure the rights to the names, Rumi Carter and Sir Carter. 

Lawsuit filed in fatal crash involving Venus Williams

Tennis star Venus Williams will be facing a lawsuit from the family of a man who died after an automobile accident earlier this month.

An attorney for Linda Barson, said on ABC's "Good Morning America" Friday that her family will sue Williams and are trying to gather more information about the crash.

France's Marine Le Pen charged over funding scandal

French far-right leader Marine Le Pen has been placed under formal investigation over an alleged European parliament funding scandal.

The allegations were passed to French investigators who have opened a case.

The parliament suspects some €5m (£4m; $5.4m) went to assistants of Ms Le Pen's National Front (FN) who were not working for MEPs but were actually engaged in FN party work in France.

Germany's parliament has voted by a wide margin to legalise same-sex marriage after Chancellor Angela Merkel changed her mind and said members of her ruling conservative bloc should follow their personal conscience rather than the party line.

The parliament voted by 393 to 226 on Friday in favour of same-sex marriage.

Actress Whoopi Goldberg, a member of The View daytime talk show, has been elected to the board of governors for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The governing body, which oversees the Oscars, announced the governors election results late Thursday, which included Goldberg, who will represent the actor's branch. Goldberg won a best supporting actress Oscar in 1991 for Ghosts and was nominated for best actress in 1986 for The Color Purple.

The Department of Basic Education in South Africa is the latest to fall victim to the cyber attack across the world. In a statement, the department confirmed the website had been shut down and technicians/investigators are currently working to the bottom of the problem.

After confirming the hack in a statement, the department said the people who had breached the website had "since posted gory pictures of decapitated corpses, some of whom are children".

Sudan faces Fifa ban on Saturday over government interference

Fifa has warned Sudan that it faces an international ban from football unless it overturns a governmental order to install a new football association president. 

The ban is set to begin on 1 July after two rival group claimed control of the country's association. 

On 2 June, Sudan's Ministry of Justice ordered the Fifa-recognised SFA president Mutasim Gaafar Sir Elkhatim to be removed and replaced by Abdel Rahman Sir Elkatim.

GHAMRO, Police And Media To Enforce Copyright Act To Fight Piracy

The Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) has organised a one day copyright workshop for selected members of the police, Copyright Monitoring Team and GHAMRO Enforcement Team.

Gabonese opposition politician arrested for threatening the President and inciting rebellion

Authorities in Gabon have arrested an opposition politician who threatened to cause violence by forcing President Ali Bongo to resign from his position. Confirming his arrest Wednesday, State prosecutor, Steeve Ndong Essame Ndong told AFP, that Roland Desire Aba'a Minko was placed in protective custody after "he threatened state security, inciting rebellion and circulating fake news to undermine public order".

Burn victim attacked by ex-boyfriend dies after 52 surgeries

An Ohio woman who underwent 52 surgeries after her ex-boyfriend set her on fire died Tuesday, her family announced.

Judy Malinowski was set ablaze by Michael Slager following a fight at a gas station in Gahanna, outside Columbus, in 2015. Slager received an 11-year prison sentence in December, while Malinowski — who was disfigured in the attack — underwent dozens of surgeries, Fox 28 reported.
