Mahama dedicates Fathers’ Day to late Major Mahama
Former president John Mahama has dedicated this year’s Fathers’ Day
to the young military commander Major Maxwell Adam Mahama, who was
lynched at Denkyira-Obuase in the Central region.
Major Mahama was killed in cold blood three weeks ago by an incensed
mob, who allegedly mistook him for an armed robber after a woman had
raised a false alarm upon spotting a sidearm on him.
He left behind a wife and two children.
As the world recognizes the role being played by fathers in molding
the family, former president Mahama took to Twitter to honour his late
nephew and “all servicemen who’ve fallen in the line of duty and their
children robbed of daddy’s joy”.
