GBC’s Francisca appointed Ghana’s High C’ssner to Kenya
The deputy director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation
Francisca Ashitey-Odunton has been appointed Ghana’s High commissioner
to Kenya by President Akufo-Addo.
She was sworn in along four others at a ceremony at the Flagstaff House Wednesday.
The others include Dufie Agyarko Kusi, an experienced international
public servant, who is to represent Ghana in the Republic of Korea,
Madam Virginia Hesse, a respected former senior civil servant, who is
going to Prague in the Czech Republic, Alowe Leo Kabah, a seasoned
lawyer and politician who is heading as Ambassador to the Republic of
Benin and Prof. Abena Busia, an internationally acclaimed academic and
poet, who is on her way to Brazil as ambassador for Ghana.
The President urged the Ambassadors and High Commissioner to remember
vividly the slogans of his government’s flagship programmes –
1-District-1-Factory; 1-Village-1-Dam; Planting for Food and Jobs –
describing them as reflections of government’s commitment to the rapid
development and transformation of the nation’s industrial and
agricultural sectors.
President Akufo-Addo also urged the diplomats to strive to develop
cordial working relations with the professional Foreign Service officers
as well as develop a good rapport with the Ghanaian communities in
their respective countries.
