Justin Bieber Tells Fans: “I Want To Be Sustainable”

Justin Bieber wrote a message to fans on Wednesday in the wake of canceling his tour. In the note, he explains that he want to be “sustainable” as both a performer and an individual.

As Gossip Cop reported, it was announced last week that the rest of Bieber’s “Purpose Tour” was canceled with just a handful of dates left. The superstar has told paparazzi he was simply exhausted and wanted a break, but now he is speaking at length for the first time about the situation. In the type-written message, which was posted to Instagram without a caption, Bieber expresses gratitude towards his fans, takes some responsibility for his past mistakes, and looks ahead to the future.

“I’m so grateful for this journey with all of you,” the singer begins. “I’m grateful for the tours but most of all I’m grateful I get go through this life WITH YOU! Learning and growing hasn’t always been easy but knowing I’m not alone has kept me going. I have let my insecurities get the best of me at times, I let my broken relationships dictate the way I acted toward people and the way I treated them! I let bitterness, jealousy, and fear run my life!!!”

Bieber goes on to say, “I’m VERY aware I’m never gonna be perfect, and I’m gonna keep making mistakes but what I’m not gonna do is let my past dictate my future… What I’m not gonna do is be ashamed of my mistakes. I wanna be a man that learns and grows from them!” He further writes, “I want you all to know this tour has been unbelievable and has taught me so much about myself. I am reminded how blessed I am to have a voice in this world. I’ve learned the more you appreciate your calling the more you want to protect your calling.”

“Me taking this time right now is me saying I want to be SUSTAINABLE. I want my career to be sustainable, but I want my mind heart and soul to be sustainable. So that I can be the man I want to be, the husband I eventually want to be and the father I want to be,” the performer says, adding, “This message is just an opportunity for you to know my heart” and “where I am coming from.”

The message comes just a few hours after “The View” co-hosts defended Bieber’s decision to take a break, expressing full support for his desire to put himself first. He is pictured above at his last concert, which took place exactly a month ago. Check out the full statement below.
