Samira Bawumia offers full sponsorship to 13-year-old who gained admission to KNUST
Samira Bawumia, wife of Ghana’s Vice President, has offered to fully
sponsor the education of 13-year-old Ruth Gyan-Darkwa, who gained
admission into the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology
(KNUST).
Ruth Gyan-Darkwah is the youngest person to ever gain admission into KNUST.
Representing the Second Lady at a meeting with the
Gyan-Darkwah family, was the Ashanti Regional chairman of the New
Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (a.k.a Chairman Wontumi).
According to him, the gesture by the Second Lady is
to encourage other young adults in the country to pursue their studies
and do better in school. According to Starr FM, Chairman Wontumi noted
that the Second Lady will consider students who excel at their studies
and offer them her support as well.
The NPP chairman also offered his support to
15-year-old Josephine Gyan-Darkwa, the older sister of Ruth who wishes
to pursue a course in medicine in Germany.
Chairman Wontumi said that he was impressed with her results and would gladly help her achieve her dreams.
