Former US President Obama accompanied by a six-vehicle motorcade as he reported to $17.20-per-day jury duty in Chicago (photos)

Former US president Barack Obama answered a jury summons today, arriving at a Chicago courthouse to perform the civic duty. Accompanied by tight security, Obama was the only juror to arrive at the courthouse in a six-vehicle motorcade made up of four black SUVs that had Secret Service detail, a Chicago police SUV, and an Illinois State Police SUV.

He was then ferried up to the 17th floor jury assembly room via an elevator usually reserved just for judges, but was later seen in the jury assembly room shaking hands and signing books for other jurors as they waited to be assigned to a trial.
