Emulate Commendable $2 Million Support for Education in Ghana by Zenith Bank Founder - President Akufo Addo to Banking Sector Players

The award of 2 million dollars by the founder of Zenith Bank to support Ghanaian students at the Ashesi University is worthy of emulation by all industry players in the banking sector not only in Ghana but the whole of Africa, President Akufo Addo has stated. 

Addressing attendees of the official commissioning ceremony of the Zenith Bank Head Office Complex at its forecourt, President Akufo Addo said the success of Zenith Bank in Ghana over their 12 years of operation in Ghana speaks volumes particularly with their decision to directly participate in the education sector of the country.

The founder and Group Chairman of Zenith Bank, Jim Ovia, in his speech observed that the leadership of the bank have discovered that Ghanaian students are brilliant and that is the motivation behind the decision to invest heavily in university education in Ghana through Ashesi University.

The First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Maxwell Opoku-Afari, described the step by Zenith Bank to build a huge edifice such as this in Accra as a clear sign of the success of the bank and their commitment to contribute positively to the Ghanaian economy. He urged the management of the bank to continue it's good work and abide by the governing rules of banking in Ghana.
