Lionel Messi picks up Pichichi award and Alfredo Di Stefano trophy following successful 2016-17 La Liga campaign (Photos)
Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi has added more trophies to his
collections after he received two awards from Spanish sports newspaper
Marca on Monday.
The Argentine footballer who scored a remarkable 37 goals in 34
league games last season, two more than Barcelona team-mate Luis Suarez,
won the Pichichi award at a ceremony which held in Barcelona.
The Pichichi trophy, named after the Athletic Bilbao striker Rafael
'Pichichi' Moreno Aranzadi, is awarded by Marca to the top goalscorer of
each La Liga season.
The 30-year-old also won the best player in La Liga and was rewarded with the Alfredo Di Stefano award on Monday.
Messi was also pictured posing with team-mate Andres Iniesta, who won
Spain's Most Valuable Player award and other award winners at the Marca
Sports Journal Award ceremony.
