Photos : Iyiola Ayoade Receives Business & Entrepreneurship Award

The Chief Executive Officer of the Multiple Concepts Group and Charter House Ghana, Mr. Iyiola Ayoade has been honored at the 2017 Impact Africa Summit: Ghana on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the 2017 Impact Africa Business & Entrepreneurship Laureate for among others, his creative, entrepreneurial and business acumen in the media, entertainment and events industry.

Mr. Ayoade who takes over from Togbe Afede XIV as the summit’s 2017 Business & Entrepreneurship Laureate joins the list of eminent personalities including former President J A Kufuor , Professor Kwesi Yankah, Professor Enyonam Kwawukume, Ms. Farida Beidwei and Mr. Ken Ashigbey to receive the prestigious Impact Africa Summit Award.

The Impact Africa Summit on SDGs.

The Impact Africa Summit: Ghana on SDGs presents the biggest platform for government officials, senior diplomats, academia, local and international business executives, youth groups, civil society, the media among others, to share ideas and identify strategic means for the implementation and realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Ghana following the inauguration of the implementation of the SDGs by President Nana Akufo - Addo.
 
A key component of the summit is the Impact Africa Awards which is to celebrate and award illustrious sons of the land who have and continues to make a significant impact on the socio - economic development agenda in Ghana in different fields.

The Guest of Honor for this second edition of the summit was Professor George Gyan - Baffour, Minister of Planning and Chair of Inter Ministerial Committee for the SDGs. This year’s event came off successfully at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra on Thursday November 30, 2017.

Business & Entrepreneurship Award.

The honor was conferred on Mr. Ayoade by the Council of the Summit for his unquestionable impact on the creative arts industry in Ghana through the Multiple Concepts Group and Charter House Ghana.
 
Spearheading a number of novelties through public entertainment events and media productions in the last 20 years such as Agoro, It takes Two, Guess who is coming for Dinner, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, A Night of 1000 Laughs Series and several others, Mr. Ayoade has created a platform for many people to build a career in the arts while advancing the careers of many others.

Mr. Ayoade was also honored for being an inspiration to many young people and entrepreneurs interested in the creative arts to start their own marketing, media production and events companies, creating jobs for themselves and others which is vital to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 8.
 
 His Remarks.

In a brief speech after receiving a citation presented to him by H.E. Claudia Turbay Quintero, Colombian Ambassador to Ghana, Mr. Ayoade recounted the journey started some 20 years ago, from a passion to an empire of about 150 staff in 5 West Africa countries.

He was amazed as to how the Council of the Summit discovered him for this award and indicated that the award will become a big motivation to keep his team growing stronger. He was quick to acknowledge the role and contributions of his wife Mrs. Theresa Ayoade and the entire board, directors and staff of the Multiple Concepts Group and Charter House in the success of the journey.

He was also optimistic about the growth and fortunes of Africa and called on the private sector to take up the mantle to light up the continent, “we need to be innovative, we need to break new frontiers, we need to be strong, we need to be compassionate, we need to be charitable and if we put all these together and brighten our little corners, together we will have a lighted Africa and probably in our time the narrative about Africa will change”

Other Awards.

Other personalities awarded at the summit included Dr. Felix Anyah, CEO of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, for the Health Award, Dr. Elsie Kaufmann, Senior Biomedical Engineering Lecturer of the University  of Ghana  for the Education Award and David Asare Asiamah, CEO of Agro Mindset for the Rising Star and Agriculture Award.
