Kim Kardashian testifies in her Paris robbery case

Kim Kardashian West is ready to talk about that terrifying night in Paris. The "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star spoke with a judge in her robbery case in New York City on Wednesday, Feb. 1, nearly four months after it happened.
According to TMZ, the judge and attorneys in her Paris robbery case traveled to New York to get the details of that night. Authorities really want Kim to identify the men who broke into her apartment.
In France, judges in criminal cases are allowed to travel to alleged victims and interview them, especially in high-profile cases. Under law, Kim will not be required to undergo cross-examination, the website said.
Us Weekly reports that Kim will actually be answering questions for two days about the Oct. 3, 2016 incident in which she was gagged, bound and held at gunpoint. Thieves stole more than $10 million worth of jewelry.

This woman got a snake stuck in her earlobe

A woman from the US state of Oregon managed to get her pet python stuck in her earlobe. Ashley Glawe posted a picture of herself in hospital on Facebook.
She wrote: "BY FAR one of my #CRAZIEST life moments! Went to the #EmergencyRoom because my #BallPython #Python #Snake decided to get #STUCK in my #Gauged earlobe!"
She posted to say she was holding the snake, called Bart, when it slithered through a hole in her ear. 
"It all happened SO fast that before I even knew what was going on it was already too late..."
She said she was really worried about her Ball Python, but it all worked out OK. 
She told friends online that doctors "numbed my ear, stretched it more, and lubed him up to get him through without having to cut my ear... THANK GOD".
Bart the snake is said to be fine.

15 AK-47 wielding soldiers ransack Kofi Adams' house, seize 5 cars

Fifteen armed men dressed in military fatigues, suspected to be army officers, have stormed the private residence of the main opposition National Democratic Congress' National Organiser, Mr Kofi Adams, and seized all his vehicles in the company of four alleged National Security officers and personnel from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).

According to Mr Adams, who said he is currently in Dubai, the soldiers ransacked his Tema Gulf City home on Wednesday afternoon and seized three Pick-Ups – two belonging to his brother – as well as a Land Cruiser, and another car of a make he could not readily recall.

The cars, according to the soldiers, were suspected to belonged to the state and were taken to the Flagstaff House.

Mr Adams told Asempa FM that the soldiers were led by one Captain Tandoh who said they were acting upon orders from the Minister of National Security, Albert Kan-Dapaah and the Flagstaff House.

Afghan woman's ears cut off by husband

A 23-year-old Afghan woman has described to the BBC how her husband tied her up and cut off both her ears in a domestic violence attack in the northern province of Balkh.
The woman - Zarina - is now in a stable but traumatised condition in hospital.
"I haven't committed any sin," she said. "I don't know why my husband did this to me."
The woman's husband is on the run in Kashinda district following the attack, police have told local media. Zarina told Pajhwok news that the unprovoked attack took place after her husband suddenly woke her up.
She was married at the age of 13, and told BBC that "relations with her husband were not good".
Zarina complained that her husband had tried to prevent her from seeing her parents, she said in another interview, with Tolo News. She said she no longer wanted to remain married to him.

Trump visit puts Queen in 'difficult position'

Theresa May's controversial decision to invite Donald Trump for a state visit to the UK has put the Queen in a "very difficult position", a former head of the Foreign Office has claimed.

Denzel Washington to be feted at The American Black Film Festival

Oscar-winning star Denzel Washington is set to receive the "Hollywood Legacy Award" at this year's event. The 2017 BET Presents American Black Film Festival will be hosted by Regina Hall on Friday February 17.

The daughter of Kenyan Olympics champion, Julius Korir has been murdered in Switzerland

The deceased who is yet to be named was confirmed dead on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, when the Bernese Cantonal police were called in by neighbors following a violent dispute at the Rue Jolimont in Reconvilier.
According to a report on Citizen TV, the perpetrator, a Swiss man who was found at the scene and arrested with no signs of resistance.

Police also discovered a knife at the scene but its yet to be revealed if it was the weapon used to commit the crime.

Video: Ghana’s Parliament leaks

Ghana’s Parliament House was leaking horribly on Tuesday as heavy rains visited the capital, Accra. Reports indicate the heavy downpour which was heralded by a windstorm ripped off a part of the roof of the House.

Mopping and garbage receptacles were placed at sections of the Chamber, especially where the Clerks are stationed, due to a leaking roof.
The discomforting situation disrupted proceedings around 7pm. The House had to rise abruptly while discussing the Local Government Bill that will give the president the power to revoke the appointment of the 30% Assembly Members appointed by former President John Mahama.
The Parliament House was constructed in 1965 during the tenure of Ghana’s First President Kwame Nkrumah, and was renovated in 2012/13 at a reported cost of Gh¢94.2 million.

Saudi prince buys plane tickets for his 80 birds of prey

A photo has emerged online of 80 birds of prey sitting in a plane after they were bought tickets by a Saudi prince.
The bizarre image shows the hooded animals dotted around the cabin among passengers, each bird seemingly tied securely down to the seats.
Members of the cabin crew are shown looking on, impassively.
Reddit user lensoo posted it online, writing: “My captain friend sent me this photo. Saudi prince bought ticket for his 80 hawks.”

The feathered guests, which appear to be falcons rather than hawks, are thought to have been booked on to a Qatar Airways flight.
Qatar Airways allows up to six falcons in Economy Class, while Etihad also permits the transportation of birds.
Falcons are the United Arab Emirates national bird and training them to hunt is a popular hobby in the country.

Bawumia’s new residence to cost $13.9m

A new mansion under construction to house Ghana’s Vice Presidents will cost the nation a staggering 13.9 million dollars.
The contract to the new residence which is currently being built at the Switch back road in Accra, was awarded and started under the erstwhile John Mahama-led administration.

Trump picks Neil Gorsuch as nominee for Supreme Court

US President Donald Trump has nominated Neil Gorsuch as the next Judge of the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS), the highest court in the United States. Gorsuch was named as a replacement for late Antonin Scalia who was one of the nine judges of the SCOTUS, until his death in 2016.

49 year old Gorsuch is the youngest Supreme Court nominee in 25 years.

GHC7 billion expenditure not disclosed in gov't data - Dr Bawumia

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia says government has discovered GHC7 billion expenditure not disclosed in the nation's financial data.
He said this came to light during the preparation of 2017's budget which would be presented to Parliament in March.
"As we interrogated the data to see exactly why our public finances are in the state they are, we found that there is GHC7 billion of expenditure that has not been disclosed," he said.
Speaking at a programme organised by Krif Ghana Limited in collaboration with Action Chapel International in Accra Tuesday, Dr Bawumia said data available on Ghana's financial standing is worrying.
He wondered why data for the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 fiscal years given the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) are not complete.
"Where have they [GHC7 billion] been hiding all these years?" he quizzed the audience.
