Fire Outbreak: 7 feared dead, 4 cars totally burnt in Ashiaman

Seven people are feared dead and four cars totally burnt Sunday afternoon in a fire outbreak that occurred at a petrol filling station behind the Ashiaman Timber Market.

It is unclear what caused the fire outbreak which reportedly started at a filling station operated by some Gao people and spread into a nearby tanker yard resulting in the fire escalating and causing an inferno.

A total of 16 Fire Tenders have been marshalled to fight the fire which has proven very difficult to be put under control.

Ghanaian UK based musician Sonnie Badu might be going through a lot already as a picture shared on his Instagram page suggests.

In the post shared on Sunday February 26, the handlers of the account called on all his prayer warriors to rise and pray for the musician.

It is immediately unknown what could be wrong with the Gospel musician.

He is currently on admission at the Royal Perth Hospital in Australia.

Holllywood actor Bill Paxton Dead at 61 Due to Complications from Surgery

Emmy-winning actor Bill Paxton died due to complications from surgery, PEOPLE confirms.
“It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery,” a family representative said in a statement. “A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker. Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their adored husband and father.”
The Texas native, who won an Emmy for his work in the TV mini-series Hatfields and McCoys, began acting in the 1970s. His earliest acting credits include minor roles in blockbusters such as Terminator (1984) and Aliens (1986).

FIFA president Gianni Infantino to visit Ghana

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is pleased to announce that FIFA President Gianni Infantino will arrive in Ghana on Monday on a one-day working visit.
The leader of world football's governing body will arrive in Accra on Monday morning as he seeks to further strengthen the ties between FIFA and Ghana.
Infantino will meet Ghana President, His Excellency Nana Akuffo-Addo, at the Flagstaff House.
“This is an important milestone for football in Ghana with President Infantino coming to the country to share ideas of his vision for the game," Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi told Ghanafa.org.
"President Infantino's visit is unique because it gives our key stakeholders the chance to exchange ideas with a sitting FIFA President to help shape the future of the game.
"We are delighted to host the FIFA President in Ghana and we are confident the visit will further accelerate the development of the game in the country."

Man, 57, kills wife over sex in Brong Ahafo

A 57-year-old man known as Kwasi Boateng has committed suicide after killing his wife Akosua Ntem, 47, over lack of sex at Kokoa near Sampa in the Jaman North District of the Brong Ahafo Region.
According to a local Journalist in the community, Boateng went on his usual drinking spree and upon returning home around 9pm Saturday he wanted to have sex with his wife but she refused accusing him of drinking.
This resulted in hot exchanges between the two but Boateng in the process shot his wife in the head who died instantly.
Boateng sensing danger also shot himself in the stomach and died instantly.
The bodies of the two have been deposited at the Samoa Government Hospital Morgue pending autopsy. Meanwhile, the Sampa Police have begun investigations into the incident.

Oscars: Moonlight warms up with Independent Spirit Awards win

The cast and creators of Moonlight have warmed up for Sunday's Oscars by winning the top prize at Saturday's Independent Spirit Awards.The touching and beautifully-shot drama about growing up gay and black in Miami is seen as an outside bet to upset the La La Land bandwagon at the Oscars.
It confirmed its status as the awards circuit's second favourite film with six Independent Spirit Awards.
La La Land wasn't eligible for the awards, which reward low-budget films.
Moonlight was made for $1.5m (£1.2m) over 25 days - but has now recouped $21.5m (£17.3m) at the North American box office. It also has eight Oscar nominations, compared with La La Land's 14.

Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan agree to fight April 23

Amir Khan is finally getting the super fight he’s been chasing after for years. Both Manny Pacquiao and Khan announced on Twitter Saturday night that they have agreed to terms to fight on April 23.

Akufo-Addo appoints new Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) boss

President Akufo-Addo has appointed the corporate, Marketing and Public Affairs Manager of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority Paul Asare Ansah as acting Director-General of the GPHA.
He takes over from Richard Anamoo, who was relieved from the post on January 23, 2017.
A statement announcing the appointment noted: “Pursuant to section 8(2) of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority Act 1986 (P.N.D.C.L 160), I hereby appoint you to act as the Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the governing board of the Authority, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

President Trump to skip White House correspondents' dinner

US President Donald Trump has announced he will not attend the White House Correspondents' Association dinner on 29 April.
The glitzy event draws celebrities, journalists and politicians, normally including the US president.
Mr Trump said he would not attend a day after the White House excluded several major broadcasters and newspapers from a press briefing.
He has frequently described negative news coverage as "fake".
The announcement comes as relations between the White House and some media outlets continue to deteriorate. 
On Friday, the BBC, CNN, Buzzfeed and the New York Times were among media groups barred from an off-camera informal briefing held by White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer.
Hours before the briefing, Mr Trump had delivered a strong attack on what he called "fake news" in the media, targeting stories with unnamed sources.
He said "fake news" was the "enemy of the people".

95-year-old woman raped and strangled in South Africa

A 95-year-old South African woman has been raped and strangled in her home at Uitenhage, Eastern Cape. Confirming the shocking occurrence, Uitenhage police spokesperson, Majola Nkohli said the elderly woman was on Thursday, February 23, 2017, sexually assaulted and strangled at her home.
 'A neighbor discovered the body while bringing some food for the victim. It’s believed the victim was also raped and strangled with a telephone cord,' Nkohli said.

According to Buzz SA, Uitenhage police have started investigating the matter.
