“My EX is spreading scandalous & baseless lies about me” – Tonto Dikeh says as She Shares Photo Evidence of Domestic Violence

To counter the recent claims made by the Ghana Crime Officer that Tonto was the aggressive one in the relationship, the actress has shared another photo of bruises allegedly inflicted on her by Oladunni Churchill while they were still together.
She went on to warn him to desist from smearing her name, revealing that she has more evidence to prove he battered her and will not hesitate to make them public if he continues to spread lies about her. She wrote;

"Domestic violence is a scourge in the world. In Africa especially, this evil is rampant. African traditions preach & teach the almost absolute submission of the wife to the husband or the husband’s almost ownership of the wife. Hence, to the uninformed & uneducated woman, domestic violence is easily accepted as a norm, this is precisely the reason why domestic violence is rampant in our society. It is therefore obvious that one of the most effective ways to curb this scourge is to inform and educate people; l/w…

An intruder carrying a backpack entered the White House grounds and was arrested by U.S. Secret Service agents at an entrance near the president's residence, CNN reported on Saturday morning.
President Donald Trump, who was in the White House at the time, was not in any danger from the security breach, which occurred around midnight, the cable television network reported.

Bono and the Obamas Brunch in the Big Apple — And Get a Standing Ovation

Barack and Michelle Obama had lunch with U2 frontman and activist Bono in New York City on Friday.
The trio sat in a private dining room downstairs at Upland in Manhattan, a source tells PEOPLE.
As Bono and the Obamas walked out of the eatery, the source says, “the whole restaurant stood up and applauded and cheered for them. Barack Obama waved at everyone upon leaving.”
The former president looked relaxed and happy as he left the restaurant with a wide smile, wearing a sleek black suit and white shirt with the top few buttons undone. It was a slightly more dressed-up look than the streamlined brown leather jacket and new and improved dad jeans he was spotted wearing last Sunday during a visit with his wife to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. — where they also earned a round of applause from fellow museum-goers.

Africa gets its own web address with launch of .africa

Africa now has the unique web address .africa, equivalent to the more familiar .com, following its official launch by the African Union.
AU commission chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma hailed its creation as the moment when Africa "got [its] own digital identity".
The AU says the .africa domain name will "bring the continent together as an internet community".
Addresses can now reflect a company's interest in the whole of Africa.
For example, a mobile phone company could create mobile.africa to show its Africa-wide presence, or a travel company could set up travel.africa.
Icann, the body that establishes these addresses known as generic Top-Level Domains, approved the move, after lobbying by the AU.
The campaign was spearheaded by a South African company ZA Central Registry (ZACR), which will now be responsible for registering .africa names.
ZACR's boss Lucky Masilela said that .africa addresses could cost as little as $18 (£15), AFP news agency quotes him…

No increase in fares — GPRTU

The National Chairman of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Mr Kwame Kumah, has said there has not been any increase in transportation fares. He said recent increases in fuel prices had not yet precipitated any increase in transport fares.
He said transport unions, taking cognisance of the fact that there was a new government in office and that the Minister of Transport was now settling in office, had held back any demands for increases.
Speaking in an interview with the Daily Graphic, Mr Kumah said drivers, like farmers, must be commended for their patience and sacrifices in the light of the increases in fuel prices, which had affected their operations.
“Drivers, like farmers, whose services and produce are priced for them by middlemen and women, need to be commended for their sacrifices,” he said.
No indication yet
Mr Kumah gave no indication about when fares would be increased, except to say that partners in the sector were dialoguing on the way forward.

Annie~Joy writes: Suicide Is Not The Answer! Part 2. Be Inspired!!

Know that little fights are not given to big soldiers. You are being weighed and what you can contain is given to you to handle. Embrace the pain, you can't go over it, you can't go around, you can only go through it. Dark times in your life doesn't call for suicide because out of the dark times are bright times. Therefore, be strong to go through your hard times.  Students are also committing suicide due to academic challenges. It shouldn't be so. When you are not performing academically, all you have to do is to sit down and cover up. It doesn't have anything to do with suicide. Although your death might seem sad and unexpected, it doesn't give honour to you. How do people respond when they hear someone has committed suicide because his boyfriend or girlfriend broke the heart?  Definitely insults are the first thing that comes in mind. It doesn't make you the individual matured. There is more to it, the moment phrases of life move you to commi…

The Trump administration moved on Friday to sweep away most of the remaining vestiges of Obama administration prosecutors at the Justice Department, ordering 46 holdover United States attorneys to tender their resignations immediately — including Preet Bharara, the United States attorney in Manhattan.
The firings were a surprise — especially for Mr. Bharara, who has a reputation for prosecuting public corruption cases. In November, Mr. Bharara met with then President-elect Donald J. Trump at Trump Tower in Manhattan and told reporters afterward that both Mr. Trump and Jeff Sessions, who is now the attorney general, had asked him about staying on, which the prosecutor said he expected to do.
But on Friday, Mr. Bharara was among federal prosecutors who received a call from Dana Boente, the acting deputy attorney general, instructing him to resign, according to a person familiar with the matter. As of Friday evening, though some of the prosecutors had publicly announced their res…
