GOP rep: Trump owes Obama apology for 'reckless' wiretap claim

According to The Hill, Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.) on Friday called for President Trump to apologize to former President Obama for accusing him of "wiretapping" Trump Tower without evidence.
"I see no indication that's true. It's not a charge that I would ever have ever made, and frankly unless he can produce some pretty compelling proof, then I think President Obama is owed an apology in that regard," Cole said.
"If he didn't do it, we shouldn't be reckless in accusations that he did."
Cole is the first GOP lawmaker to call for an apology, although other Republicans have questioned why Trump made the accusation without proof. White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Thursday defended Trump, saying: "The president has already been very clear that he didn't mean specifically wiretapping. He had it in quotes. So I think to fall back on that is a false premise. That's not what he said. He was very clear when he talked about i…

Russia court to consider Jehovah's Witnesses ban

Russia's justice ministry has called for a ban on the Jehovah's Witnesses, a Christian movement that zealously seeks converts and rejects military service.
The ministry has asked Russia's supreme court to close the group's headquarters and stop its 175,000 Russian members sharing "extremist" literature.
A spokesman for the group called the proposed ban "persecuting worshippers just for manifesting their faith".
Some Russian regions have already shut down branches of Jehovah's Witnesses.
According to the justice ministry, the Jehovah's Witnesses' activities "violate Russia's law on combating extremism".
The authorities object to pamphlets deemed to incite hatred against other religious groups, mainly for proclaiming Jehovah's Witnesses as followers of the only "true" faith.
One quotes the novelist Leo Tolstoy, describing the doctrine of the Russian Orthodox Church as superstition and sorcery, the BBC'…

Morocco's king names former foreign minister as new PM

Morocco's king has named Saad Eddine El Othmani from Islamist PJD Party as the country's new prime minister and asked him to form a government, according to a royal statement published by the MAP state news agency on Friday.
Othmani served as foreign minister between 2011-2013 and had since served as the head of the PJD's parliamentary group.
King Mohammed VI announced on Wednesday he would replace Abdelilah Benkirane as prime minister with another member of the PJD in an effort to break a five-month post-election deadlock.
The king took the decision to oust Benkirane "in the absence of signs that suggest an imminent formation" of a government and due to "his concern about overcoming the current blockage" in political negotiations, the royal statement said on Wednesday.
Benkirane had been reappointed after the PJD, which first came to power in 2011, increased its share of the vote in October elections, maintaining its position as the biggest party…

It was gathered that the perpetrators first shot at the Police car from both sides.  Presidential Press Secretary Linda Nabusayi confirmed the incident to the Daily Monitor.  "It is true and it's so sad," Ms Nabusayi said when asked to confirm whether Mr Kaweesi was one of the three police officers killed in the Friday morning shooting. Annie~ Joy writes: The Moral Implication 2 . •Why Is Book Nyansa Chosen Over Afie Nyansa•

Annie: Hall, will you throw your hand back to your mother when she has angrily hurt you with a hard material?  Hall: No, I will not, after all she is my mother and did it out of anger.  Annie: what about you, Godson?  Godson: Yes, I will hit her right back. If she did it out of anger. I will do same. We were both not ourselves. What impression has this dialogue given you? Godson is rude I guess while Hall is respectful right?  But come to think of it? Godson was hurt with a hard material. And not everyone can stand pain or pressure unless the person pay back. Maybe you have forgotten my term for AFIE NYANSA in the first episode of this article.  I said; it can be referred to as WISDOM which is acquired from above (GOD) and BOOK NYANSA can be referred to as KNOWLEDGE which is acquired from someone. Hall has demonstrated AFIE NYANSA by forgetting about the pain and still accepting the guilty as his mother while Godson went according to BOOK NYANSA.  There is liberty and freedom when …

Candid photos of Hitler sells for $41,000

Candid photos of Hitler recovered from his mistress' bunker have sold in auction for $41,000. An unidentified buyer purchased the photos, many of whom show a different side of a man whose name is synonymous with evil.
In one, Hitler sits comfortably in a deck chair on the veranda of his villa in the south of Germany, reading a document.  In another, he poses next to some smiling children.  The album was acquired by photographer in 1945. He saw a Russian soldier take it out of Eva Braun's bedroom drawer, shortly after Hitler and Eva committed suicide, leaving little doubt about its authenticity.  Eva Braun and Adolf Hitler married April 29, 1945 and committed suicide together the following day.
She was a photographer and an assistant to Hitler's personal photographer in the years prior to her death. The album of photographs was auctioned Wednesday by Royal Tunbridge Wells in Britain.

US confirms air raid but denies targeting mosque

The US military says it carried out a deadly air strike on an al-Qaeda meeting in northern Syria and will investigate reports that more than 40 civilians were killed when a mosque was struck in a raid in the same area.
Jets struck the village of Al Jina, in Aleppo province, on Thursday at the time of evening prayer when the mosque was full of worshippers, with local activists saying up to 300 people were inside at the time of the attack.
Al Jina is located in one of the main rebel-held parts of Syria, encompassing the western parts of Aleppo province and neighbouring Idlib.
The area's population has been swollen by refugees, according to UN agencies.
Al Jazeera's Natasha Ghoneim, reporting from Gaziantep on the Turkish-Syrian border, said Centcom admitted it carried out an air strike in Idlib but that the precise location of the attack was still in question.
"Right now, Syrian Civil Defence personnel are struggling to get people from under the rubble of a mosque in t…

Akufo-Addo responds to critics of ‘elephant size’ government

The President has responded to critics of his 110 ministerial appointments, justifying the move as critical to the effective execution of the dire national challenges.
Nana Akufo-Addo has parried off the public attacks on his appointments by declaring that the problems facing the country called for the more men to fix them.
“I don’t believe that my government in the Fourth Republic has big numbers in view of the swollen challenges,” he told state news agencies, Daily Graphic and Ghana Television (GTV) during an interview at the Flagstaff House on Thursday.
The President’s 54 ministerial appointments on Wednesday received what can be described as the biggest fallout since he took over the helm of governance in January this year.
The addition of the 54 ministers, including their deputies shot up the number of his appointments to a total of 110, the highest in Ghana’s history. Many Ghanaians have described the size of the new government as an elephant size government, in referenc…

Reduce Ministers, 110 too many – CDD to Akufo-Addo

The Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) has stated that it is shocked at President Akufo-Addo’s decision to appoint a total of 110 ministers .
According to the CDD, the 110 ministers “sets a negative record for a country infamous for its oversized ministerial teams”.
President Akufo-Addo has come under severe criticisms after new appointments announced on Wednesday brought the number of ministers and deputy minsters to 110.
The ministries of Information, Energy, Agriculture and Local Government will each have three deputy ministers, if the appointments are passed by Parliament.
Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu criticised the size of the government, saying it would “feed” off the public purse.
But Information Minister Mustapha Hamid hit back at critics saying “we never promised a lean government”. In a statement, CDD stated that the United States, a larger and more economically and financially complex country, has approximately 46 ministers.
“Similarly, India, a country of som…

Selena Gomez Says Rehab Was 'One of the Hardest Things' She's Done

In August, the 24-year-old musician canceled the remaining dates of her Revival World Tour and checked into a treatment facility in Tennessee, citing that she was having anxiety, panic attacks and depression as a result of her lupus.
"I was depressed, anxious," she shares in the April issue of Vogue magazine. "I started to have panic attacks right before getting on-stage, or right after leaving the stage."
Gomez tells the fashion magazine that she gave up her phone for 90 days and participated in group therapy sessions with a small number of women who struggled with similar issues. Britain's GCHQ agency denies wiretapping Donald Trump

Britain's communications intelligence agency GCHQ has issued a statement denying it wiretapped Donald Trump during the US presidential campaign.
The unusual move by the agency came after White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer cited claims first made on US TV channel Fox News earlier this week.
GCHQ responded by saying the allegations were "nonsense, utterly ridiculous and should be ignored". Mr Trump has claimed that Trump Tower in New York was under surveillance.
'Chain of command'
The GCHQ claims were initially made by former judge Andrew Napolitano.
Mr Spicer quoted Mr Napolitano as saying: "Three intelligence sources have informed Fox News that President Obama went outside the chain of command.
"He didn't use the NSA, he didn't use the CIA, he didn't use the FBI and he didn't use the Department of Justice, he used GCHQ."
A GCHQ spokesman said: "Recent allegations made by media commentator Judge Andrew Napolitano about GCH…
