Pastor arrested for alleged murder of woman

A 46-year-old pastor, Felix Bamfo, his wife and son have been arrested in connection with the death of a middle-aged woman, identified as Evelyn Homawu, at Viepe, near Aflao in the Ketu South municipality in the Volta Region.
The three were arrested after the police found the dismembered body of the woman, 47, in a carrier bag, popularly called ‘Ghana-must-go’ about 50 metres from the pastor’s residence.

The celebrated Tunisian fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa has died at the age of 77, French media report.

Thousands of people have gathered in the centre of Harare to call for the resignation of Robert Mugabe, as moves to force the Zimbabwean president to stand down gather momentum.
The rally is supported by the army and members of the ruling Zanu-PF party. War veterans who until last year were loyal to the president are also saying Mr Mugabe should quit.

Ghana sends third-highest number of students from Africa to USA

There are currently 3,111 Ghanaian students enrolled at more than 630 tertiary institutions across the United States of America.
“Ghana is the third-largest sender of students from Africa, after only Nigeria (11,710 students) and Kenya (3,189 students)’’, a statement issued by the Public Affairs Section of the Embassy of the United States in Ghana said.

The Ghana Police Service will from Monday 20th November 2017, begin a massive recruitment drive aimed at enlisting personnel into all sectors of the service.
A statement signed by the Director-General of Human Resources Development at the Ghana Police Service, COP Beatrice Vib-Sanziri, listed close to 50 units which qualified personnel will be absorbed to fill.

Five people have been killed in Kenya's capital Nairobi as police broke up crowds of opposition supporters.
At least two of the victims were shot dead, reports said, while others may have been stoned to death by a mob.

Their daughter was taken down the aisle by her maternal grandmother.
