Stonebwoy Discusses Being Deemed “Africa’s Newest Reggae Ambassador” with Canada- based TAP Magazine

Ghana’s Stonebwoy (Livingstone Etsey Satekla), who is widely touted as “Africa’s newest reggae ambassador”, has divulged to Canada -based magazine, The African Perspective (TAP), of his ultimate goal of etching his name in the history books as far as Reggae/ dancehall on the continent is concerned.

Seen by many as successor to such legends as Rocky Dawuni, Alpha Blondy, and Lucky Dube, the Ashaiman native, who has proven to be a true talisman, and beacon of hope for fellow youths across the continent, expressed how humbled he feels to even be deemed “next in line” in conversations regarding African reggae influencers, evidence that his efforts and sacrifice are gradually seeing fruition: ” “I’m grateful to even be spoken of, when it comes to names like these”, he disclosed, while maintaining that becoming a first-rate act has always been an ambition of his: “I’ve been at this dream for a long time…only time is showing us what dream I have always had”.

“Reggae music has gone far, and these names have represented the culture –the Reggae music that is from Africa. Although Reggae became a name out of Jamaica, we all know that you can’t talk about Reggae without linking it to the roots …me being next in line only means that we’re gonna take over the world just like they ((Rocky Dawuni et al)  have”, he further intimated.

Stonebwoy recently released his fourth studio project “Epistles of Mama” : a 24 -track twin CD dedicated equally to Afrobeats  and reggae/ dancehall.
