DStv Eutelsat Awards Winner To A Live View Rocket Launch

The 2017 DStv Eutelsat Star Awards competition is back. The awards are open to all learners from secondary schools in Ghana. Students can enter the competition by writing an essay or designing a poster depicting how satellites have launched humankind into the 21st century and acted as a unifier.

According to Cecil Sunkwa Mills, General Manager, MultiChoice Ghana, “as we mark the sixtieth anniversary since the first satellite, Sputnik, was launched into space, the topic for this year’s competition is so apt. We cannot overemphasize the importance of satellite technology and are looking forward to some very riveting and engaging posters and essays from the teenagers this time around.”

The competition is open to students across Ghana between the ages of 14 & 19yrs. They may enter the DStv Eutelsat Star Awards at a country level by writing an essay or designing a poster on the given topic. Entry forms and the resource booklet are available at MultiChoice Ghana Offices countrywide or from the competition website (www.dstvstarawards.com).

You are required to select one way of entry either writing an essay or designing a poster on the topic. A resource booklet is also available for download. Limited quantities of the booklet are also available at MultiChoice country offices.

The winner of the essay competition will travel to France and see a rocket launch into space and the student who designs the best poster will win a trip for two to South Africa and visit the South African National Space Agency as well as exploration of several heritage sites.

The schools attended by the two winners will also receive a DStv installation, including a dish, TV, decoder and free access to the DStv Education Package. The DStv/Eutelsat Star Awards Competition closes on the 1st of March 2018; for more information you may visit the competition website (www.dstvstarawards.com) or call 0302740540.
