A heartbreaking photo captured a father fleeing war torn Syria with his son in a suitcase.

The father and thousands of others were able to flee fierce fighting in Eastern Ghouta, Syria, after a brief truce.

The Syrian war has been going on since 2011 and on March 15th, it entered its 8th year. So far, more than 465,000 Syrians have been killed in the fighting, over a million injured, and over 12 million have been displaced from their homes.
