Mel B claims ex made daughters watch ‘ISIS beheading’ videos
Mel B's battle with her ex-husband is still raging on despite reaching a
divorce settlement.
The former Spice Girl, whose real name is Melanie Brown, claimed in recent
court documents that her ex Stephen Belafonte should no longer be able to
interact with her three daughters after he showed them "videos of ISIS beheading
individuals," according to documents obtained by The Blast.
Brown, 42, has three daughters, Phoenix, 19, Angel, 10, and 6-year-old
Madison. Belafonte is Madison's father, but Phoenix's father is Jimmy Gulzar and
Angel's father is Eddie Murphy.
"When I was not present, Stephen thought it was funny or educational (I still
do not know) to play videos of ISIS beheading individuals," Brown said in the
March 1 docs, obtained by The Blast.
"This was entirely inappropriate for such young girls, who do not understand
what is happening in the videos. Angel has repeatedly told me about these videos
and that she was scared and frightened that Stephen would expose her to such
gruesome images," she continued.
Brown states that she has entered Angel into therapy and is requesting
Belafonte no longer have contact with her.
Phoenix, Brown's eldest daughter, also provided statements in the documents
about the ISIS beheading videos.
"He got us all to watch men being beheaded with chainsaws by ISIS, as we were
in the kitchen and he was cooking," she said, adding that the incident occurred
during a trip for her 16th birthday with friends.
She also claimed the two never became close because he would call her names,
including "retarded" and "stupid."
"He would be very aggressive with Angel and Maddie (Madison) if they broke
the 'rules,' like talking when he was on the phone. He would just yell really up
close to them," she continued.
In another accusation, the "America's Got Talent" judge alleges that
Belafonte is trying to reach out to Angel after giving a teddy bear to Madison
to give to Angel, which had a piece of paper with his phone number placed
inside, according to The Blast.
Brown and Belafonte finalized their divorce in December 2017 after 10 years
of marriage, which included a shared custody agreement for Madison. The split
came in the wake of domestic abuse allegations by Brown.
The "Spice Up Your Life" singer was ordered to pay Belafonte $40,000 per
month in temporary spousal fees and $140,000 for attorney and forensic fees,
according to People.
