Ghanaian Highlife musician Jewel Ackah is dead
Ghanaian Highlife artiste Jewel Ackah who has been battling stroke and other sicknesses for the past 10 years has passed away. He was 73.
Reports say his death occurred on Friday 27th April, 2018, in the evening.
Jewel Ackah was known for hit songs like "Abena Ewo Hen", "Araba", "and Abena Ma Ware Wo".
Nana Appiah Mensah, the
head of the Zylofon Group, was one of those who supported Jewel Ackah,
donating $10,000 towards his medical rehabilitation.
Former president John Mahama also visited him at his Swedru home to wish
him well and support him financially.
It appears, however, that despite the donations to Jewel Ackah to aid
his recovery, the musician's condition had deteriorated, leading to his
