Africa’s Travel Indaba ends with a call on African countries to develop tourism

Leading travel and tourism expo Africa’s Travel Indaba #INDABA2018 has successfully ended in Durban, South Africa.

About 7000 participants from 80 countries including 22 from Africa with government Agencies, Destination Management Companies, media, exhibitors, hosted buyers, tourism professionals from around the world engaged in Speed marketing, Matchmaking, Networking and learning innovative technological ways in the tourism product delivery.
 
Africa’s Travel Indaba plays an integral role in shaping of the continent’s success stories. The exhibitors showcased diversity of products with over 500 small enterprises known as “Hidden Gems” from start-up entrepreneurs. 
 
South Africa’s Minister of Tourism, Derek Hanekom called for the improvement of tourism products to attract more investments to Africa.

The west African tourism delegation to the exhibition included Hajia Barkisu ,President of the Tour Operators Association in Nigeria , Kwesi Eyison ,The President of the Tour Operators Union in Ghana , Alhaji Rabo Salih, Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria ,The President of The Travel Agents of Nigeria , Bankole Bernard , Publisher of ATQ Magazine, and Founder of Akwaaba Travel Market, Nigeria , Ikechi Uko ,
 
Nancy Sam the President of Women in Tourism Ghana, Abeiku Aggrey Santana , CEO of Kaya Tours Ghana , Ameyaw Debrah, Francis Doku were among the 26 West African Delegation drawn from Ghana and Nigeria. 
 
In his closing remark, the CEO of the South Africa Tourism, Mr Sisa Ntshona commended the African delegation for cooperating to promote and integrate the continent as one destination through tourism.
