History is made as Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un meet for their summit in Singapore
US president Donald J. Trump is currently having a historic meeting with
North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un in Singapore. They are meeting in
Capella resort, an isolated hotel on Sentosa Island in Singapore.
The two leaders shared a historic handshake as they met for the first time at 9am Singaporean time.
The meeting is supposed to last for 45 mins. The two leaders will kick
things off by meeting with only their translators present, a U.S.
official said. Trump and Kim and their translators will meet first in a
session first, before they allow their respective advisers to join
them.
Update: The initial meeting with the two leaders and their
translators is over. They both came out together, with Kim Jong Un
smiling from ear to ear. They both waved to journalists, then moved to a
different room for an expanded bilateral meeting with their respective
advisers.
President Trump's advisers at the meeting are his Secretary of State,
Mike Pompeo, his Chief of Staff, John Kelly and Ambassador John Bolton,
his National Security adviser.
