I’m Ready To Promote The Creative Arts Sector For Economic Gains - Minister of Tourism, Arts And Culture, Hon. Barbara Oteng- Gyasi

The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Barbara Oteng- Gyasi- has expressed her quest in helping the President, Nana Akufo- Addo’s government to achieve his transformational agenda for the Tourism Sector in the country.

According to Hon. Barbara Oteng- Gyasi, she intends to engage her attention to the Creative Arts Sector which has the tendency to boost the economic fortunes of those engaged in that venture.

She added that her outfit would be pushing for the expeditious passage of the Creative Arts Bill.

This according to her would invariably help monetize the creativity of the Creative Industry.

She explained that all these initiatives can come to the fore, if all staff of the ministry are committed in delivering on their assigned roles.

She made these assurances during a Staff Durbar meeting held in honour of her at the Ministry’s Conference Hall in Accra.

The said meeting was necessitated at the instance of Hon.Barbara Oteng- Gyasi, to have the nuances of the issues confronting Staff and the sector wide challenges thereby, proffering remedies to them.

The Chief Director, Alhaji Abudulai Yakubu, in his openning remarks indicated that the Hon.Minister wanted to have an earlier interface with the staff but due to her activities, it was not possible, hence today’s session with her.

The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Hon.Dr. Ziblim Iddi Barry, in his closing remarks emphasied that Hon.Barbara Gyasi should be rest assured, indicating that the Ministry Staff has the requisite intellectuals capacities, coupled with the material resources needed to turn the fortunes of Ghana’s Tourism Sector.

Prior to the meeting, Hon.Barbara- Gyasi earlier met with the Management Staff of the Tourism Ministry, as well as, the Heads of Agencies under the Ministry.
