EbonyLife Media CEO, Mo Abudu made chair of 2019 International Emmy Awards Gala

Nigeria’s Mo Abudu, has being made chair of the 47th International Emmy Awards Gala, which honors the best television programs initially produced and aired outside the United States.

Taking the highest seat of the night, Mo Abudu, shared via her Instagram handle captioned with a thank you message to the International Emmy Awards organizers for the honor to chair.

She disclosed, “As a Nigerian television producer, I am honored to chair the 47th International Emmy Awards and be part of an organization that celebrates extraordinary television producers from all over the globe.”

Mo, has over the years under the flagship of her production company EbonyLife Media, produced award winning films, plus box office shatters in Nigeria’s cinemas and television. Her recently produced film ‘Chief Daddy’ grossed over 200 million Naira box office opening, both in Ghana and Nigeria, making the film Nollywood’s movie of the year in 2018 at the box office. It also became Nollywood’s number three movie of all time behind, ‘The Wedding Party’ and ‘The Wedding Party 2’ all executive produced by her.

Making a statement on what she thinks are the advantages of being a producer of films and great content providers in the creative circle, Mo chimed, “As producers, we are in a unique position to share fresh, authentic, and original stories with a global audience. Our content is not limited by language or culture. Viewers want to see stories that reflect their everyday lives-which can be found everywhere.”

Founded in 1969 by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and held first in 1973, the 2019 gala will take place on November 25, in New York City. Chief International Anchor of CNN, Christiane Amanpour will also receive the 2019 Directorate Emmy Award at the gala.
