Barack Obama and his family decided to give back to the community while celebrating Thanksgiving.

The former US President shared a photo showing him, wife Michelle Obama, and daughters Malia and Sasha, distributing food to people.

He accompanied the photo with a Thanksgiving message encouraging people to give back to those around them.

He wrote: Today, we give thanks for our blessings, give back to those around us, and enjoy some time - and turkey, and maybe a little football - with the ones we love. From the Obama family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving."
