10 Women Entrepreneurs to watch in 2020

Ghana has the largest percentage of Women Entrepreneurs in the entire world and this makes us at WomanRising very proud. Ghanaian women are successfully breaking through the glass ceiling and taking entrepreneurship to a whole new level. 

Women Entrepreneurs in Ghana are establishing businesses that are solving economic problems, creating jobs, empowering individuals, lifting the flag of Ghana high and changing the narrative that we have been used to and as such, WomanRising takes delight in celebrating these women every chance we get.

There are many women entrepreneurs doing amazing things. However, in this article, we have highlighted 10 of these women entrepreneurs to watch in 2020; we are excited and cant wait to see what these women get up to doing this year.

Patience Osekre is a psychotherapist and wellness consultant trained in the UK with a wealth of experience and expertise in providing emotional and psychological services for individuals, groups and organizations.

She is also the founder and lead consultant of Supreme Healthcare Management Services. Supreme Healthcare Management Services provides holistic wellness service and consultancy for oil companies, embassies, schools, clinics, hospitals, and other corporate institutions. They have provided emotional and psychological support services and other wellness interventions to employees and families in corporate settings such as, Stanbic Bank, Modec Ghana, Tullow Oil, Schlumberger, American embassy, Coca-Cola, etcetera. 

Bridget Afiba Acquah is a fashion entrepreneur passionate about providing lovers of fashion with trendy, classic and affordable wears ideal for their personality. She is the founder and CEO of Britin Boutique and Afiba Perfumes. Afiba Perfumes are locally made perfumes with a unique, natural distinct smell that lasts longer than the normal perfumes due to the oil base. 

Nana Ohemaa Antwi-Darkwa is not just passionate about enhancing beauty and wellness through natural alternatives; she also loves to see young women empowered and she is building a community of women who have gained increased self-esteem, pride and identity. She is an entrepreneur and the founder of C’Eliore Naturelle, an E4Impacy MBA Champion for 2017 and Enpact fellow. C’Elior Naturelle provides natural skincare products that help the skin recover from the stress and harsh climates. Their products are inspired by the wisdom of traditional healing practices and celebrate Africa’s vibrant heritage and natural resources. They also educate other women on the benefits of using natural products, train them on some of the ancient healing and beauty practices which have been neglected. 

Freda Anani is one young woman, who despite the challenges she encountered at the initial stages of her entrepreneurial journey, is rising and changing the status quo of beauty entrepreneurship in Ghana. She is a beauty therapist, trainer, entrepreneur, and the founder and CEO of Ahuva Haven. Ahuva Haven is a mini spar that seeks to redefine the beauty of Ghanaian (and African) women, unveil their hidden beauty and boost their confidence through a series of services. They render services such as manicure and pedicure treatment, massage, facials, makeup, eyelash extensions, waxing and tweezing. They also train individuals interested in pursuing a career in the beauty industry. 

Gifty Mintaa Quarshie has a background in data analysis and information technology and is a co-founder and communications lead of Tech Shelta. Tech Shelta is a service-oriented company that builds suits of software and hardware to influence the agriculture and Agribusiness industry. They provide an efficient and cost-effective online advisory, automation and market linkage service to vegetable greenhouse farmers, aggregators, Consumers and input dealers. 

Faith Senam is a fashion writer, fashion PR specialist and founder of Women in PR. She is also the founder of E’April Public Relations, a fashion-based public relations firm specializing in businesses in the fashion, beauty, lifestyle and arts industry. E’April strives to give clients the exposure that their brands or products require to become a sought after brand. Their services include social media management, promotions and brand strategies, publicity, press releases, product launches, and blogging.

Enyonam Manye is the founder and Managing Director of Biz Trendz Concept. She is also the host of the Biz Trend Show, an award-winning show that airs on GhOne TV that has created the platform for SME’s entrepreneurs and business moguls to interact with its viewers and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Adisa Tiorgah-Seidu is the founder of Odo Asem, a one-stop shop for gifts and romance needs. Odo Asem is committed to remaining the number one “go to” place for all the “nice” and “spice” products and tips they need to enhance their relationship and love lives.

Evita Joseph is the founder and CEO of Evita Joseph, a beauty brand passionate about the complex beauty needs of the African woman. Evita Joseph provides fun, scrumptious, sweet, extra-ordinary, stupendous cosmetics, makeup tools and accessories, close to doorsteps of users with the main aim of taking away the hustle and bustle of getting makeup abroad.

Gloria Naa Yarboey Abbey is the founder and CEO of YARBS Cakes, YARBS Catering Services and Women of Virtue Empowerment Foundation. Women of Virtue Empowerment Foundation is an organization that seeks to bring women and ladies of all spheres of life together with the sole aim of tackling excising challenging social issues including streetism, homelessness, child abuse, child labor, etcetera, and to put smiles on the faces of women in Ghana and beyond.
