Starr FM’s Naa Ashorkor hosts 21st GJA Awards Saturday

Starr 103.5 FM’s mid-morning show host, Naa Ashorkor, will host the 21st edition of the GJA awards which comes off on Saturday, August 27 at the Banquet Hall, State House, in Accra.

The versatile presenter is optimistic of treating attendees to an awesome event - one to be remembered.

Naa Ashorkor told Starrfmonline.com it is a great honour and opportunity to put her talent to bare.

“I feel very humbled to have been chosen to host the single most important event on the calendar of anyone into broadcasting in Ghana and most importantly to host the first gentleman of the land, president John Mahama, the EC Chair as well as the crème de la crème from various industries …I intend to give it my all … expect the very best, nothing short of an amazing evening.

“I feel a little nervous though… standing before a room full of journalists, the people with the very best of vocabulary, people who write stories, the people with the very best of self-confidence, I don’t think it will be easy but I’m up for the challenge… I think in all it’s a great honour and opportunity”.

The 21st edition of the GJA awards is themed: “Media for undisputed and peaceful 2016 election: The support of civil society.”

Dignitaries expected to grace the awards ceremony includes; President John Mahama as the Guest of Honour; the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Charlotte Osei, as the Guest Speaker, and Dormaahene, Oseadeyor Agyeman Badu II, as the Chairman.
