Election 2016: Greenstreet picks retired diplomat as running mate .

Nana Gabby Nsiah Nketiah
The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has nominated Nana Gabby Nsiah Nketiah, a retired diplomat under the erstwhile Kufuor administration, as its vice presidential candidate.

Nana Nketiah will therefore become the running mate of the 2016 CPP flagbearer Ivor Kobina Greenstreet.

“The party took this decision squarely on the account of his versatility, understanding of party's philosophies and his great exposure and maturity,” an official statement said.

Nana Nketiah is a traditional ruler and a businessman. He was born on 1st October 1943 at Fiapre near Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana.

He has a strong Nkrumaist background and as a “Guitarist he occasionally performed for Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah”. He is an engineer by profession and has served both in the Ghana and British Army.

By this nomination the party hopes he will effectively complement the flagbearer given his deep understanding of the predicaments of the country, the statement added.

Nana Nketiah is married to Monica Nee Kusi and has five children.
