FIFA WC Qualifier: Ghana 0-0 Uganda

The Black Stars of Ghana failed to score against the Cranes of Uganda in the 2018 World Cup qualifier on Friday at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

Despite the Black Stars playing at home the game was balanced till the first half ended goalless with the two sides maintaining their starting line-ups.

After recess the pendulum kept on swinging from left to right with the host gaining more possession than the guest.

Coach Avram Grant wanting to change his game quickly introduced midfielder Agyemang Badu for injured Afriyie Acquah with the pressure tilting towards the Cranes.

In the last fifteen minutes of play chances upon chances came the way of the Black Stars but all were wasted with the Ugandan’s custodian Onyango preventing any goal in his post.

With ten minutes to end the game Ghana introduced another striker in the person of Majeed Warris for Christian Atsu with the tempo of the game changing but the scoreline never changed.

Captain Asamoah Gyan got a free kick in the last three minute of play but failed to bury it ending the game on a goalless note with both teams splitting the points.
