Pete Burns dead: Celebrity Big Brother and Dead or Alive star dies aged 57

Pete Burns has died unexpectedly of a heart attack, his manager has confirmed. The star rose to fame in the 80s with pop band Dead or Alive and appeared in Celebrity Big Brother 4 in 2006.

In a statement on Twitter, Pete’s manager Steve Coy, wrote: "It is with the greatest sadness that we have to break the tragic news that our beloved Pete Burns of (Dead Or Alive) died suddenly yesterday of a massive cardiac arrest.

"All of his family and friends are devastated by the loss of our special star.

"He was a true visionary, a beautiful talented soul, and he will be missed by all who loved and appreciated everything he was and all of the wonderful memories the has left is with (sic)."

The statement continued, saying: "We have no more words, we will make a further statement when we have had a chance to come to terms with our devastating loss.

"He will live forever in our memories.

"Sending you all our love."

Burns recently appeared on Celebrity Botched Up Bodies.

Appearing on Channel 5's Celebrity Botched Up Bodies, Pete said he first got plastic surgery 20 years ago, when You Spin Me Round became a success.

He then went on to get four nose jobs, cheekbone implants, and had lots of countless amounts of work done to his lips.

Speaking of his first procedure, he shared: “I realised I was going to be a visual entity and that I had to look good."

Back in 2011, he admitted: "I also have regular peels and Botox. It's something I'll always do. People redecorate their homes every few years and I see this as no different. Changing my face is like buying a new sofa."

Pete won £450,000 in damages last year from cosmetic surgeon Dr Maurizio Viel, who the singer claims left him 'suicidal' after his lip implant operations went wrong.

The Liverpudlian had his first surgery in the 1980s after the money started rolling in from hits like You Spin Me Round with his band Dead Or Alive.

But it was in 2004 that his surgeries started to go wrong when an infection set in, which saw his lips swell to 18 inches.

He said: "'My doctor punctured it and the yellow discharge that came out filled two mugs. I was put on antibiotics but my whole face began to swell. I was housebound for nine months and couldn't move my head - discharge would pour out."
