According to Starr News’ Lambert Atsivor, all three stakeholders are currently locked up in a meeting to resolve the register impasse.

Armed security officials have been deployed to the area to maintain calm among expectant voters as commencement of voting drags.
The poll was put on hold during the November 2015 nationwide parliamentary primaries by the party hierarchy for reasons they described as “strategic”.

Funny Face is talking too much!

News of comedian, Funny Face divorcing his wife, Elizabeth Nana Adjoa Ntim, never moved me. Certainly, I was not surprised not because I wished it happened whatsoever but for a simple reason that nothing surprises me in life anymore.

Funny Face via his various social media accounts confirmed a publication by Flex Newspaper that he had secretly divorced his wife two years after their union and stated that the divorce happened seven months ago.

“I guess you can’t light a candle and hide it under your bed… People will see the light… It’s been seven months ago… All I have to say is IT JUST DIDN’T WORK,” he posted.

The response from Funny face made me doff my heart out to him because he stayed away from giving details of what really informed his decision to end the marriage.

Trust the media to follow up on issues of such nature to feed their readers and listeners. Nonetheless, after monitoring his interview on Pluzz FM, the “actual” cause of the breakup was still kept secret, …

Rawlings must return Abacha’s $2m gift – Nigerian journalist

Former president, Jerry John Rawlings has drawn the ire of some Nigerians following his admission that he received two million dollars from Sani Abacha, who ruled Africa’s most populous country between 1993 and 1998.

In an interview with the Guardian newspaper of Nigeria, Flt Lt Rawlings conceded he took money, delivered in a suitcase by an emissary of Abacha’s at the Osu Castle, but dismissed earlier reports dating back to more than two decades that he got $5m from the Nigerian tyrant.

“We were preparing for constitutional rule. We needed funds for some activities, and we got contributions from few places,” Rawlings told The Guardian. “The interesting thing is that I never went to, or asked Abacha for any contribution. And this is something that impressed me about the man. I didn’t ask him for a penny. But he obviously understood certain situations, our situation, and graciously sent me a small suitcase of money.”

The former president continued: “I was at the Air Force St…

GBC Workers Fight Board

Unionized workers of the state broadcaster – Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) – Thursday morning prevented the board members of the company from entering the premises.

This followed the passing of a resolution by leadership of the workers’ union last week Thursday, July 7, 2016, barring members of the GBC board, chaired by Richard Kwame Asante, from entering the compound.

The workers are accusing the board of running down the corporation and engaging in acts of malfeasance.

At a charged durbar at the broadcasting house in Accra yesterday, the workers asked the National Media Commission (NMC) to dissolve the current board.

The durbar was held following reports that the Nima police had invited the leadership of the workers’ union for interrogation regarding a complaint by the board chairman that he was being threatened.

The unionized staff resolved they would not be intimidated and that they would follow their leaders to the police station anytime they were invited.
