The officials were made to answer questions on Mahama‘s decision to allegedly accept the gift from a Burkinabe contractor , Djibril Kanazoe when he was Vice President in 2012.

Sources within the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), confirmed this to Citi News.

The team of investigators from the Commission are also expected to present their report on the saga by the end of this August, 2016.

The Youth League of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) and a private citizen, petitioned CHRAJ with claims of conflict of interest against the President and called for an investigation into his receipt of the gift.

US election: Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort quits

Paul Manafort, campaign chairman for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, has resigned just two months after taking the helm.
Mr Trump confirmed Mr Manafort's departure in a statement.
He first took control of Mr Trump's campaign after the businessman's campaign manager was fired in June.

Mr Manafort, 67, has come under fire for his ties to Russian interests and former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
But it is not yet clear why he left the team, which was overhauled earlier this week with the addition of a new campaign chief executive and a new campaign manager.

Mr Trump has come under pressure in recent weeks after a series of controversial remarks and falling poll numbers.
"This morning Paul Manafort offered, and I accepted, his resignation from the campaign," Mr Trump said in a statement.
"I am very appreciative for his great work in helping to get us where we are today, and in particular his work guiding us through the delegate and conv…

Any Lawyer Who Sues Me For Flogging My Children Has No Brains – Obinim

The Founder and General Overseer of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has said any lawyer who threatens to sue him for publicly flogging his amorous adopted son and daughter is brainless.

His comment follows the decision by renowned human rights lawyer, Francis Xavier Sosu to haul him before an Accra Human Rights Court Friday for violating the dignity of his (Obinim’s) adopted children and also dehumanizing and degrading them, an act which is in contravention of Article 15 (1) and 15 (2) respectively of the 1992 constitution.
The controversial pastor ignited public outrage after he was seen in a video flogging the pregnant girl and her boyfriend. Infuriated by the couple’s lustful actions which resulted in a pregnancy, Bishop Obinim beat the youngman on his bare back with his belt before turning to the girl flogging her mercilessly in the full glare of his congregation.

During the beating session, Obinim is heard questioning the jobless youngman why …

AUDIO: Obinim Replies Critics: Keep Quiet...

The founder and leader of the International Godsway Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim has broken his silence over a video of him beating two members of his church for fornicating and attempting abortion.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Bishop Obinim did not understand why Illiasu (the boy, 16) whose father had died and was still in school would have sex with Gyasiwaa, 14, who is learning a vocation to become a beautician.
The two, who confessed their ‘sins’ to Obinim when they were called before the entire congregation in Kumasi, were beaten by the Pastor with a men’s leather belt, to the apparent delight of the members of the church.

In the 2.59 minute video of the incident, the pastor resolved to punish in a manner many have described as assault and against the human rights of the two.

Amnesty International as well as others have called for the arrest of Obinim. However in an audio released on Thursday, Bishop Obinim said:

"Everyone under the hearing of my…

Rio Olympics 2016: Usain Bolt wins 200m gold, his eighth Olympic gold

Usain Bolt won the men's 200m to claim his second Rio 2016 gold, his eighth at an Olympics, and keep alive his hopes of an unprecedented 'treble treble'.
The Jamaican ran 19.78 seconds to come home ahead of Canada's Andre de Grasse and France's Christophe Lemaitre.

Britain's Adam Gemili clocked the same time as Lemaitre, but was denied his first Olympic medal in a photo finish.

Bolt, 29, has already won the 100m in Rio and will run in the 4x100m relay final on Friday (02:35 BST, Saturday).
Adam Gemili 'gutted' with fourth
Bolt is aiming to match his achievement of claiming gold in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay at both Beijing 2008 and London 2012.

The Jamaican, who said in February he would retire after the 2017 World Championships, has won all eight of the Olympic finals in which he has appeared.

"The fact I came here and executed what I wanted to is a brilliant feeling," he told BBC Sport.

"I wasn't happy with the time when I crossed…
