Bourne's 3D conversion sends Chinese heads spinning

A 3D version of the latest Bourne movie made exclusively for Chinese cinemas has caused local audiences to complain about headaches and nausea.
The format remains hugely popular in the country, particularly when it comes to action movies.

But the conversion process required to give the 2D-shot film an extra dimension seems to have been ill-judged in this case.
Why has China got a 3D Bourne? Cinemas usually charge more for movies screened in three dimensions, so there's an obvious incentive to show them in the format.

But while Europe and the US have seen ticket sales for 3D movies decline, there's still a strong appetite for the technology in China.

Many theatres in the country are fairly new and have equipped themselves with the latest projectors.
When it comes to 3D movies, however, there are two kinds.

"Real" 3D movies are shot with a dual-lens cameras, which capture two versions of every shot. Special glasses let viewers see a different one with each eye. Many …

I'm tired of Ghanaians talking about me - Yvonne Nelson

It comes to a point in the country where everyone’s attention is geared towards one celebrity.

One person in the entertainment industry who has been enjoying a lot of buzz from the media and citizens is actress Yvonne Nelson.

If her words are anything to be taken serious, then she has had enough of Ghanaians always expressing ideas about her.

She has told Hitz FM’s MzGee that it is time Ghanaians turn their attention to other public figures in the country because everything cannot be about her always.

She said people track her a lot trying to figure out everything she is doing.

“People are still concerned about who I’m hanging out with, what I’m wearing, where I’m sleeping, what I’m posting on Instagram, I don’t understand.

Charley, we are many so can they also talk about other people? I’m just tired” Yvonne told MzGee.

She admitted that Ghanaians talking about her helped boost her career.

“I enjoyed it. I think it's helped me whether negative or positive because its all par…

A-Plus Changes Facebook Profile To The Above (PHOTO)

We’ve seen several Ghanaian celebrities, even those without any pull factor or social media influence making strong political declarations for the NDC on social media.

It’s been slow for the NPP in that respect but now, comedian/musician, A-Plus who has a huge social media influence, capable of influencing the direction of conversations has made a declaration for the NPP and Nana Akufo Addo.
A few hours ago, A-Plus changed his Facebook profile to the above, bearing NPP’s message and party colours and the profile picture has already received over 2400 likes from his followers.

It does seem like the conversation and campaign is about to get heated on social media.

Anthony Weiner scandal: Huma Abedin splits from sexting husband

Hillary Clinton's personal aide, Huma Abedin, has announced she is separating from her husband, disgraced former politician Anthony Weiner.
Ms Abedin's announcement comes after a report emerged that he had allegedly exchanged sexual photos with a woman.
He appeared to have sent a photo of himself in his underpants with his toddler son nearby.

The former congressman resigned in 2011 after sending explicit photos to women by text message.
"After long and painful consideration and work on my marriage, I have made the decision to separate from my husband," Ms Abedin said in a statement.
"Anthony and I remain devoted to doing what is best for our son, who is the light of our life. During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy."
She is one of Mrs Clinton's most trusted advisers and Republican Donald Trump said it showed a lack of judgement on her part, with Mr Weiner possibly having access to classified information.

Anas’ award celebrates unethical journalism – Justice Dery

Lawyer for dismissed High Court Judge, Justice Paul Uuter Dery, has confirmed his client’s intention to take an action against the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA), for presenting the 21st Best Journalist Award to investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, at the Awards held on Saturday.

Anas’ work on the judiciary implicated Justice Dery and over thirty others in a massive bribery and corruption piece which won him the award over the weekend.

But the lawyer for the embattled high court judge, Nii Kpakpo Addo, told Citi News that the award rather celebrates unethical journalism.
He said his client will be formally registering his protest with the GJA.
Justice Derry had sued Anas in a bid to have his named cleared in the judicial corruption scandal.

Justice Dery’s lawyer explained that, they are against the award because the Supreme Court in February 2016 said Anas and his Tigereye PI firm “violated the 1992 constitution” in publishing “the videos they said contained the evid…

Ghana To Experience Partial Eclipse Of The Sun On September 1

On Thursday, September 1, 2016 history will once again be made as Ghana experiences another partial eclipse of the sun from 6:13am to 9am.
At about 7:20am, the moon’s image will pass off the sun’s face. This will take about an hour and half.

Partial Solar Eclipses happen when the Moon comes between the Sun and the Earth, but they don’t align in a perfectly straight line. Because of this, the Moon partially covers the Sun’s disc.

2017 AFCON qualifier: Ayew to fund tickets for Black Stars players

Deputy Black Stars skipper Andre Ayew has offered to buy flight tickets for some of the 23 invited foreign based players of the senior national team to travel to Accra for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda.

This comes after the Sports Minister Nii Lante Vanderpuije recently told Vice President of the Ghana Football Association George Afriyie, that the ministry does not have the needed funds to purchase tickets for the players.

Though most of the Black Stars players are ready to purchase their own flight tickets, Ghana FA Communications Director Ibrahim Sannie Daara feels the decision by the injured West Ham forward to support the foreign based legion with flight tickets is a massive show of patriotism.

“The Black Stars players themselves have decided in a massive show of patriotism that they want to pay for their own tickets to come for the match.

“However, there are some players who are unable to afford the tickets and for that Andre Ayew has decided th…

La Liga: Rakitic Goal Keeps Barca Perfect

La Liga champions Barcelona claimed an impressive 1-0 win away to Athletic Bilbao on Sunday night thanks to an Ivan Rakitic goal after 20 minutes.
The Basque side had plenty of chances in an open game but Barca displayed the greater quality in front of goal and after Luis Suarez had released Arda Turan down the left, the Turkey international cut inside onto his right foot and his cross found Rakitic racing into the box to head home from six yards.
Suarez almost added an injury-time second as he had an effort cleared off the line, but Luis Enrique’s men join bitter rivals Real Madrid, who beat Celta Vigo on Saturday, on six points from two games.
