Chelsea legend Michael Essien is on the verge of joining Melbourne Victory in the A-League in Australia.
According to the Herald Sun, Essien will become the second player to sign under the new Football Federation of Australia (FFA) guest-marquee rule, less than a month out of the start of the season.
The deal is reportedly imminent, with the FFA approving Victory’s application for Essien under the new rule.

HR Today: Handling workplace gossip

Gossip is a very common thing amongst people both men and women, young and the old. It is an everyday thing and it’s done any time regardless of the place or environment; it is so prevalent in the office or at our workplaces.

Most at times, it appears as though people have nothing important to do than gossip about each other, events and other totally irrelevant issues. They talk about the company, their coworkers, and their managers. They frequently take a partial truth and turn it into a whole speculative truth. They make it look so serious as if their very existence depends on it and without that they seize to function. They rally people to believe in these negative vibes and in no time it’s widespread.

Some managers intentionally turn a blind eye to employee gossip, either because they are benefitting from the gossip or they simply cannot be bothered. It becomes threatening when supervisors and managers also engage in this deviant act; it breeds low morale and gradually…

Mahama just steals to destroy - NPP

The New Patriotic Party, after studying the highlights of the ruling party's manifesto, has accused the President of the Republic of being empty on ideas to develop Ghana.

Instead, the President steals ideas from his political opponents only to be found wanting when it comes to implementing them. Addressing a press conference in Accra today, the Communications Director of the party, Nana Akomea, said, the NDC “steal our policies and cannot implement them. They even steal the title of our manifesto. So they have no deep attachment to the principles necessary to drive the promises they give. To them, politics is all about ways and means. Nothing to do with actually making lives better.”

According to Nana Akomea, President Mahama, in putting together h…

GHC50,000 Filing Fee Too Small – Akua Donkor

The founder and leader of Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor is calling for increase of the GHC50, 000 filing fee for presidential candidates announced by the Electoral Commission (EC).

In her view, it is an honour for anyone seeking to lead the country to buy nomination forms for such 'paltry amount' thus the noise being made by some opposition political parties is 'unnecessary'.
Madam Akua Donkor’s comment comes after some smaller political parties including the Peoples National Convention (PNC) and the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) are calling for a reduction of the amount.

Presidential candidates and parliamentary candidates are expected to pay GHC50,000 and GHC10,000 respectively following an Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Thursday September 8, 2016.

This astronomical increase, the PNC and CPP said it an attempt by the EC to prevent them from contesting the crucial December polls. But Akua Donkor in an interview with Adom News’ A…
