Aurier, 23, celebrated an Ivory Coast goal against Mali by turning to the crowd and dragging his hand across his throat.
Governing body Fifa said a "preliminary investigation is under way".

In the same game, Aurier was praised for "saving the life" of Mali forward Moussa Doumbia.
After Doumbia was knocked unconscious in a challenge with Sunderland's Lamine Kone, Aurier intervened to stop the Rostov player swallowing his tongue.
Mali manager Alain Giresse said he spoke to Aurier after the 2018 World Cup qualifier to thank him for his "superb reactions".
The controversial celebration was the latest in a string of incidents involving the full-back.
In September, he was sentenced to two months in jail for elbowing a police officer, but remains free pending an appeal.

Arsenal Can’t rely on young Alex Iwobi to win titles -Arsene Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that the club cannot depend on young amazing talents like Nigerian player Alex Iwobi and Hector Bellerin to win major titles despite the 20yr old Nigerian being a major game-changer since he joined the first team last season.

Wenger says it's important to have the perfect mix of young talents and experienced players if they are to win titles at the end of the season.

"To be a real football player, you need to be 23 years old because you have learned your job, you can have a great game and after, sometimes an average game," Wenger said. "You can have one or two exceptional talents, like at the moment we have Hector Bellerin and Iwobi, but the core of the team has to be from 23 to 30. "If you look at the national teams, you never win a tournament with a young team, because it's more mental at some stage to win something big. "You need to have a certain level of experience."

Bob Dylan wins 2016 Nobel Prize in literature

American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan won the 2016 Nobel Prize in literature on Thursday, a stunning announcement that for the first time bestowed the prestigious award on a musician for "having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition."
Reporters and others gathered at the Swedish Academy's headquarters in Stockholm's Old Town reacted with a loud cheer as his name was read out.

Dylan, 75, is arguably the most iconic poet-musician of his generation. Songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are A-Changin'" became anthems for the U.S. anti-war and civil rights movements of the 1960s. His impact on popular culture was immense.

But although he had been mentioned in the Nobel speculation for years, many experts had ruled him out, thinking the academy wouldn't extend its more than a century-old award to the world of music.

They were wrong. The academy's permanent secretary, Sara Danius, s…

Judge sides with Future in $15 million defamation lawsuit with ex Ciara

Read the TMZ report below...
Ciara's $15 million lawsuit against Future is going to be more of an uphill battle for her ... after the judge just ruled the rapper's angry tweets alone aren't enough to prove Ciara's been damaged. The exes are locked in a nasty suit -- with Ciara claiming Future ruined her image as a mother and a singer.
However, a judge ruled Wednesday the tweets ... including gems like, "this bitch got control problems" ... aren't libelous on their face.

It means, Ciara will have to offer up more evidence as to how her career has been damaged since Future's Twitter rant. Bottom line -- Future won a battle, but it's still anybody's war to win in court.
