Man Utd, Liverpool Settle For Goalless Draw

Manchester United and Liverpool played to rare goalless draw in their heated rivalry as neither side could find a breakthrough at Anfield on Monday night.
United keeper David De Gea made a few excellent saves as the matchup ended 0-0 for the first time since September 2005, a run that spanned 27 fixtures between the teams.
United started on the front foot but could only manage a few long-range efforts from Zlatan Ibrahimovic in a first half with plenty of hard tackles but few chances at goal.

Liverpool started showing signs of life after half an hour when Jordan Henderson sent a long cross toward Roberto Firmino, but the Brazilian’s header was straight at De Gea.
The second half began with a near-howler from Liverpool keeper Loris Karius, whose poor pass went straight to Paul Pogba, but the Frenchman’s pass to an offside Ibrahimovic ended the threat.
Ibrahimovic then had a clean look at goal in the 55th minute as he met a superb Pogba cross but could not put his header on target…

All of the polls included the four-way match-ups with the third party candidates.  The poll of polls does not have a margin of sampling error. All four of the polls were taken after release on October 7 of a 2005 "Access Hollywood" tape showing Donald Trump making lewd comments about women. Since then many Republican elected officials have rescinded their support for the GOP nominee, and several women have come forward accusing Trump of unwanted sexual ad…

“She kicked him out because he cheated on her and he got caught,” says the source. “It happened two years ago, and he promised he would never do it again and once he did, she was done.”

Recently, the source says “he’s been doing everything he can to get back together, working on himself and posting on his Instagram saying that ‘Life is Good’ and showing off his new leg tattoo that says ‘You must embrace the darkness to see the light.’ ”

While there were reports back in August that they broke up after Smart, 29, failed to attend a party in the Hamptons with Lopez, 47, the source says that is not the case.

“The truth is, he was cheating and now that it’s over he’s been begging to come back,” the source says.

Nana Addo Wishes Shatta Wale A Happy Birthday

The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, has wished ‘dancehall king’ Shatta Wale a happy birthday. The two have been developing a kind of a bromance within the past week after Nana Addo gave prominence to one particular Shatta track, ‘Kakai’, at the NPP campaign launch.
After taking to stage with the single and declaring that he would come into power like ‘Kakai’, Shatta Wale seemed pleased at the attention his song received and wrote online that he was not aware Nan Addo was a such  big fan.

With today (October 17) being the birthday of the brash singer, Nana Addo has taken to social media again to wish him the very best.

Hitler house in Austria to be demolished after long row

The house in Austria where Adolf Hitler was born is set to be demolished to stop it becoming a focal point for neo-Nazis.
The future of the former guesthouse has been widely debated, with opinion torn between razing it or changing its use.
The argument was further complicated after its owner refused to sell.
But Interior Minister Wolfgang Sobotka said a committee of experts had decided that the house should be demolished, reported Austrian newspaper Die Presse.

A new building put in its place will be used for administrative or for charitable purposes, the paper added (in German).
"The Hitler house will be torn down. The foundations can remain but a new building will be erected. It will be be used by either a charity or the local authorities," Mr Sobotka told Die Presse.
The house has been the subject of years of legal wrangling between the owner Gerlinde Pommer and the government, which has been renting it since 1972 to prevent any misuse.
It currently pays about €4,800 ($5,3…

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba refuses to play for his club Montreal Impact after being told he'd be on the bench

Drogba, 38, has come off the bench in 2 of the club's last 4 matches and has scored 21 league goals in 35 matches since joining the club in 2015 but on Sunday after learning from manager Mauro Biello refused to play the match which they drew 2-2 against Canadian rivals Toronto.
'I spoke with him (on Saturday) and he didn't accept the fact that he would come off the bench and, in the end, he didn't want to be in the 18,' coach Mauro Biello said. 'He decided not to play.'
The MLS club originally stated that back pain was the reason that the 38-year-old didn’t play but have now backtracked after rumours of a discord between Drogba and the manager surfaced in the media.

“There was tightness in his back, yes, but he was capable of playing. The organisation will have to handle this,” Manager Biello reported before the match.

Michelle Obama Let a Guest at the White House Take Off Her Heels Because They Hurt Too Much

As any heel-wearer can attest, even the very best pair of heels can turn into medieval, torture-like devices when they’re worn for too long. Michelle Obama knows this. Or, at least, she sympathizes with the pain that comes from squeezing into narrow shoes and walking around on the balls of our feet for hours on end. That’s what we can deduce from a little anecdote courtesy of Sara Blakely, the founder of Spanx. Blakely recalled to Footwear News how when she was a guest at the White House, FLOTUS allowed her to take off her heels after she expressed how much pain she was in.
“I stood in line at an event and they allowed us to get a one-on-one photo with Michelle Obama,” Blakely told Footwear News. “I waited in the line so long that by the time I finally got up to Michelle Obama, I literally burst out, ‘My feet are killing me,’ and she goes, ‘Girl, my feet are killing me, too.’ I asked if I can take my shoes off and she said, ‘Yes, and you can tell anyone who tells you to put…

Akufo Addo is the Nehemiah of our time - Diana Asamoah

Popular Gospel act, Evangelist Diana Asamoah has described the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo as the Nehemiah to rebuild Ghana from its current state of disrepair.

Diana is out with another latest campaign song titled "Yen Hwe Mano Nsei". It therefore, comes as no surprise as she was granted the platform at the launch of the NPP’s manifesto at the Trade Fair Site in Accra on October 9.

In the song she compared Ghana to Jerusalem and Nehemiah to Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, the presidential candidate for the NPP.

She goes on further to state that just as Nehemiah didn’t sit idle and watch the destruction of the city, Nana would also not watch for Ghana to be ruined.

In an interview, she implored all and sundry to help propagate the gospel of change and work towards the rebuilding of Ghana by supporting and voting for the NPP.

According to Diana, the new song is enough to harness votes for the NPP, since she prophesi…

Officials fight Donald Trump's that vote was rigged

Republican and election officials from both parties,on Sunday reacted on the claims by Donald J. Trump that the election was rigged against him.
“The election is absolutely being rigged by the dishonest and distorted media pushing Crooked Hillary — but also at many polling places — SAD,” Mr. Trump wrote on Twitter on Sunday.

Mr. Trumps claims was considered a vivid illustration of how he plans to shatter American political norms through conspiracy between the news media and the Democratic Party since he had no evidence to support his claim.

According to reports, Mr. Trump’s words, though, appear to be having an effect on his supporters, are setting off deep concern among civil rights groups. According to an Associated Press poll last month, only one-third of Republicans said they had a great deal of confidence their votes would be counted fairly. Meanwhile, election officials are worried that Mr. Trump’s continued pressing of the issue could dampen or cause his supporters to…

Kigeli V Ndahindurwa: Last king of Rwanda dies

The last king of Rwanda has died in the US aged 80 years old.
Born Jean-Baptiste Ndahindurwa, King Kigeli V came to power in 1959 but was only king of Rwanda until 1961, when the monarchy was abolished and he was forced into exile.
He eventually settled in the US where he set up a charity helping Rwandan refugees and orphans.
A 2013 profile in Washingtonian magazine found him living off food stamps in subsidised housing.

King Kigeli was the last in a line of monarchs from the minority Tutsi ethnic group, which had dominated Rwandan for many years, but the Belgian former colonial power favoured the majority Hutus and backed a coup.
Rwanda was proclaimed a republic in 1961, and a Hutu, Dominique Mbonyumutwa, was made president. Tens of thousands of Tutsis were forced into exile including King Kigeli, who lived the rest of his life outside Rwanda.
For three decades the country endured ethnic violence, culminating in the 1994 mass slaughter, in which some 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hut…

Leonardo DiCaprio says climate change is a big issue for young people

Leonardo DiCaprio has told Newsbeat he thinks climate change is the biggest issue facing young people today.
He was speaking at the premiere of his documentary about environmental issues, Before The Flood, at the London Film Festival.
The film sees the Oscar-winning actor travel the world to see the impact of global warming first hand.

He says there are many things young people can do, but the most important is to use their vote.

"I think this is the issue of [young people's] generation and there has been a huge movement out there from the youth," he told Newsbeat.
"The main thing is to try to vote for political leaders that are going to do something about climate change, because it affects them directly.
"It really boils down to their vote, if we have political leaders in office that do not want to take fundamental steps to combat this issue we are ultimately doomed.
"And the best way you can do that in a democracy is by putting people in office tha…

$550m Abacha loot to be repatriated to Nigeria by US government

Barring any unforeseen development, the United States will be repatriating the $550 million Abacha loot, still trapped in the country, to Nigeria, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has said.
Speaking in an interview with Sunday Vanguard, Malami confirmed that Nigeria had met major conditions set out for the return of the loot.
According to the Justice Minister, what is left for the draw down relates to the completion of major paper work by the U.S.

“We have done our part by providing the necessary documents required by the U.S Department of Justice and proving that we did not appoint Nnanka Godson as our lawyer to trace and recover any money for the country,” Malami said. “What is basically remaining is paperwork to be done internally by the U.S. We have also appointed a senior Nigerian official based in the U.S to be relating with them in order to facilitate the fund repatriation.”

Simon Cowell apologized after making a gay sex joke on TV.
The 57-year-old music mogul was participating in a Q&A session on 'Xtra Factor', a spin-off show of 'The X Factor' in the UK, when he made the joke to gay TV presenter Rylan Clark-Neal, who was responsible for opening doors behind which fans could ask Simon a question.

However, according to TMZ, when they reached out to Tupac's estate, they said they were strongly against the sale of the pendant adding that no one has the authority to sell any Tupac item -- not even family members.

The family said they'll file a lawsuit against anyone who sells any of Tupac's items and also go after anyone who buys them.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 banned by more airlines over fire risk

An airline flight ban on Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 is spreading fast after reports some phones have caught fire.
Carriers in Australia, Asia and Europe put the phone on a prohibited list over the weekend, which comes after the US banned the device last week.
Carriers flying to the US inevitably had to follow suit, but the bans are spreading worldwide.

In addition to several flag carriers taking action, Air Berlin, Dragonair and Virgin Australia now have bans.
Qantas and its discount carrier Jetstar said in a statement: "The ban applies to devices being carried onto the aircraft, in carry-on baggage as well as check-in luggage."
Virgin Australia issued a similar announcement, but added that passengers were "strongly advised" not to bring the Note 7 phone to airports.
Air Berlin has banned the phones with immediate effect. Larger German rival Lufthansa has a ban on flights to the US, but is reportedly planning to impose the restriction across all flights soon.

In an emotional ceremony in the capital Abuja, one of the girls said they had survived for 40 days without food and narrowly escaped death at least once.
It is unclear how the release was negotiated, but an official says talks are under way to free some more girls.
Of the 276 students kidnapped in April 2014, 197 are still missing.
One of the girls freed said during a Christian ceremony in Abuja: "I was... [in] the woods when the plane dropped a bomb near me but I wasn't hurt.
