The letter George Bush wrote to Bill Clinton is a lesson in grace

Following Donald Trump's refusal to say he'd accept the results of the upcoming election, a letter President George H.W. Bush penned to his successor in 1993 as he left the White House is making the rounds as an example of grace in defeat.

A perfect night to re-read this letter from President George H. W. Bush to President Bill Clinton.
The handwritten Inauguration Day letter wishes "great happiness" to Bill Clinton, who defeated Bush in a crushing 1992 re-election bid.The outgoing president also offers encouragement and some basic advice for dealing with critics.
"Your success now is our country's success. I am rooting hard for you," Bush concludes.
Presidents writing letters to their successors and leaving them in the Oval Office on Inauguration Day is a White House ritual. George W. Bush left one for President Obama in 2009.
Ronald Reagan, in his note to the elder Bush, his vice president, famously counseled, "Don&…

Facebook accused of removing breast cancer awareness video

Facebook has removed a video on breast cancer awareness posted in Sweden after it considered the images "offensive", a group says.
Cancerfonden's video featured animated women with their breasts represented by pink circles, showing ways to detect suspicious lumps.

Facebook has not commented.

The social media platform caused outrage last month for removing the iconic "Napalm girl" photo, saying it showed nudity.

It later reverted that decision, allowing the publication of the picture, which shows a girl fleeing a Napalm attack taken during the Vietnam war in 1972.

In an open letter to Facebook, Cancerfonden said the campaign "was not meant to offend".

It added that it had found a solution to the problem: illustrating breasts using two pink squares.

Lena Biornstad, the group's communications director, told AFP news agency: "We find it incomprehensible and strange how one can perceive medical information as offensive. &q…

We haven’t endorsed Nana Addo – Atwima Kwanwoma chiefs

Chiefs in the Atwima Kwanwoma constituency of the Ashanti region have denied media reports suggesting that they have declared support for the candidature of the NPP flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo ahead of the December polls.

Reports are rife that the chiefs, numbering 58, pledged allegiance to the three-time flagbearer as he visited the area to campaign as part of his Ashanti regional campaign tour.

Leader of of the chiefs Otumfuo Mpaboahene, Nana Yaw Owusu, is reported to have accused the Mahama-led administration of neglecting them because of their perceived loyalty to the NPP.

But speaking to Nii Arday Clegg on the Morning Starr Thursday, Nana Yaw Owusu said the claim of their collective support for Akufo-Addo is not true.

“ We didn’t come together to endorse Akufo-Addo as they are claiming and it is not true that we said President Mahama has neglected us. What we said was that because of our perceived association with the Danqua-Busia-Dombo tradition people tend to think t…

Lady Gaga: Social media ruins relationships

Lady Gaga thinks social media ruins relationships.

The 'Perfect Illusion' hitmaker doesn't see the fascination with finding love online and would rather opt for more traditional ways of meeting a partner.

She said: "I don't date the same way my friends date. I see my friends dating on the internet and Instagram and everything everybody go through and man is it rough. I see my friend going, 'Well, he told me he was here and looks whats going on. Whats this post?'

"They're looking at Instagrams ruining relationships, Snapchat's ruining relationships, and Twitter and all of that. It's like people are subliminally telling each other stuff through social media about what they feel about each other and it's all a perfect illusion.

Watch here.
West was performing at Seattle’s Key Arena when he unloaded about problems with his longtime friend and collaborator. While “Pop Style” appears on Drake’s album, West claimed there was another version with him, Drake and Jay Z that wasn’t released because Jay felt loyalty towards Meek Mill, who is signed to Roc Nation. He further blamed royalty issues between Jay’s Tidal and Apple, with which Drake is affiliated, for preventing the track’s release.

“Let me tell y’all something. There will never be a Watch The Throne 2,” West told the crowd, referring to his joint album with Jay. “That’s the reason I wasn’t on this song [‘Pop Style’]. I wasn’t on the song cause of Hov. ‘Cause of some Tidal/Apple bull****. And that s*** be getting me tight every time I perform this …

According to Starr News’ Parliamentary Correspondent, Kobby Gomez-Mensah, the paper has been referred to the Finance Committee of Parliament and it is expected to submit its report on the estimates to the House after it has finished with its work.

Nick Cannon is still 'broken' from divorce

Nick Cannon is still "broken" from his divorce with Mariah Carey.
The 'America's Got Talent' host split from the 'Hero' hitmaker, with whom he has five-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, in early 2014, but he doesn't feel ready to date anyone else at the moment because he's still healing from his heartbreaking split from the pop diva.

Speaking to 'Extra', he said when asked if he'd date: "I'm broken, I'm not ready."

The 36-year-old presenter has sparked speculation he has a soft spot for TLC singer Rozonda 'Chilli' Thomas after they packed on the affectionate display in his new music video for his single 'If I Was Your Man' but, despite admitting they'd make a "cute couple" one day, he's adamant they're not an officially couple at the moment because he has stuff to work out.

He said of the 45-year-old star: "She's an amazing woman."

Host Tracey Edmonds added: &q…

Trump refuses to say he would accept election result

Donald Trump, the Republican Party nominee for US president, has refused to say that he would accept the election result if he loses, as he clashed with rival Hillary Clinton in their third and final debate.
Declining to be drawn on what he would do, he said: "I will look at it at the time."
Trump has leaned on an increasingly brazen strategy in the campaign's closing weeks, including peddling charges that the election will be rigged, despite no evidence of widespread voter fraud in previous US presidential contests.

"The biggest issue [from the debate] is his unwillingness to accept the outcome of the election," the Reverend Jesse Jackson, a prominent civil rights leader and member of the Democratic Party, told Al Jazeera. "That could sabotage the entire American process."
Al Jazeera's Alan Fisher, reporting from Las Vegas, said that it was the first time in three debates that "we saw real policy differences" between the two cand…

Eminem drops new song 'Campaign Speech' and reveals plans for new album

Eminem is back in the studio working on a new album, but he has something to say before that comes out. "Don't worry I'm working on an album!" Eminem posted on his Facebook page before adding, "Here's something meanwhile."

The rapper dropped a nearly eight minute-long "Campaign Speech" Wednesday that covered a wide range of topics, making references to everything from football player Colin Kaepernick to mystery novelist Agatha Christie. However, with a title like "Campaign Speech," listeners know Eminem is going to get political.

The rapper doesn't touch on the current political atmosphere until around the four-minute mark where he questions people who plan on voting for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump because of his anti-establishment rhetoric and critiques Trump's temperament calling him a "loose canon.""Consider me a dangerous man but you should be afraid of this dang candidate," …

Ken Agyepong Is Not Violent But Rather Very Calm And A Gentleman – Adwoa Safo

The Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya Sarah Adwoa Safo has confirmed having two children with maverick politician Kennedy Agyepong.

Although the Assin North lawmaker is widely seen as rowdy, Mrs. Safo described him as “a sweet father.”

The two Members of Parliament of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have since separated. A section of the media speculated the relationship hit a snag because the loudmouth MP was abusive “both verbally and physically.”

However, the young lawyer debunked such claims, saying their “relationship didn’t work out due to politics.”

“I have two kids with Ken Agyepong. I was never married to Ken Agyepong. He’s not my husband. We are still very good friends. I have moved on,” the daughter of the great inventor Apostle Kwadwo Safo confirmed on personality profile show Starr Chat, Wednesday.

“He’s not violent,” she said of Agyepong to host Bola Ray. “He’s very calm and a quiet gentleman. He’s a sweet father. Politics probably pushed us apart. The relationsh…

Barcelona Thrash Man City 4:0

A sensational Lionel Messi scored a hat trick as 10-man Barcelona beat 10-man Manchester City 4-0 to take firm control of their Champions League group at the Camp Nou on Wednesday.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner struck in the 17th, 61st and 69th minute — the final two after Claudio Bravo was sent off — to bestow Barca with a satisfying win in former manager Pep Guardiola’s first meeting with the Blaugrana as City boss.
And it was Messi who opened the scoring just after the quarter-hour mark with a cool finish past former Barcelona goalkeeper Bravo.

The Argentine superstar started the move after picking up the ball from Kolarov and playing forward to Andres Iniesta, whose blocked cut-back — aided by a Fernandinho slip in the box — eventually fell to an onrushing Messi who faked a first-time shot, took a pair of touches to round a fallen Bravo and slotted into an empty net with his left foot.
The goal was the 100th scored by the attacking trio of Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar t…
