Hillary Clinton to Join Jennifer Lopez at her Miami Concert

Hillary Clinton will continue on her campaign trail in Florida with an appearance at Jennifer Lopez's free Get Out the Vote performance on Oct. 29 at Miami's Bayfront Park Amphitheater.
Clinton will be on hand to encourage early voting in the swing state of Florida.
The concert is one of several celebrity concerts endorsing Clinton: On Monday, Jay Z announced a free show in Cleveland aimed at getting young black voters to vote, and on Thursday, Jon Bon Jovi will perform at a Get Out the Vote performance in Pittsburgh.

Nana Konadu files new suit against EC

The National Democratic Party has filed a fresh suit against the Electoral Commission urging the High Court to enforce the fundamental Human Rights of its flagbearer Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings to ensure she contests for the presidential race in the upcoming December elections.

The new suit is also praying the court to stop the EC from conducting any process leading to the conduct of the December elections.

The applicants in their earlier suit applied for judicial review and the enforcement of the fundamental human rights of the NDP flagbearer but the court stated that the two issues are distinct and the rules of court do not allow an applicant to apply for both in a single application.

Nana Konadu was disqualified with 12 other presidential nominees because they failed to meet some requirements of the electoral laws ahead of the December polls.

In South Africa, all attention yesterday was focused on what Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan had to say in parliament.

With the economy under pressure, questions over education funding and the finance minister himself embroiled in a political row, Mr Gordhan's mini-budget statement was eagerly awaited.
But this morning, South Africans are waking up to the news that President Jacob Zuma may have nodded off during the minister's lengthy statement.

US election 2016: Trump running mate Mike Pence's plane skids off runway

Republican vice-presidential candidate Mike Pence has had a narrow escape after his plane slid off the runway while landing in New York City. 
The Indiana governor told reporters he was fine after the rough touchdown at LaGuardia Airport. No one was injured. 

Mr Pence and the other 30 or so passengers were evacuated through the back of the plane. He was coming from a campaign event in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
LaGuardia Airport has been closed until further notice, said officials.
The pilot slammed on the brakes and passengers on the aircraft could smell burning rubber. 
Live TV footage showed Mr Pence standing in the rain near the plane among emergency vehicles, talking to police and other officials.
He tweeted: "So thankful everyone on our plane is safe. Grateful for our first responders & the concern & prayers of so many. Back on the trail tomorrow!"

Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Kobi Ampem, has endorsed the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for President.
Nana Akua Agyeman Kromo, Asantehemaa Kyeame (linguist), endorsed Nana Akufo-Addo speaking on behalf of the mother of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu.

Former Miss Finland becomes 12th woman to accuse Trump of sexual misconduct

A 12th woman has come forward to accuse Republican nominee Donald Trump of sexual misconduct. Former Miss Finland Ninni Laaksonen, now 30, told Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat in an interview published Thursday that Trump grabbed her before an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman in July of 2006.
"Before the show, we were photographed outside the building. Trump stood right next to me and suddenly he squeezed my butt. He really grabbed my butt," Laaksonen said. "I don’t think anybody saw it, but I flinched and thought: 'What is happening?'"

Laaksonen noted someone had told her at another event that year Trump liked her "because I looked like Melania [Trump] w hen she was younger." Trump married his third wife just one year prior to the alleged incident.

Laaksonen made the allegations after being contacted by Ilta-Sanomat, as part of an effort by the paper to interview Finnish women who have met Trump. She had never before discussed her expe…
