Obama: Trump shouldn't cut deals with Russia

President Obama urged his successor to continue his policy on Russia on Thursday, saying President-elect Donald Trump should not fall into the trap of seeking short-term deals with the rival power for the sake of expediency.
He said Trump should take a constructive approach, "finding areas where we can cooperate with Russia where our values and interests align," but "willing to stand up to Russia when they are deviating from our values and international norms."

"My hope is that he does not simply take a realpolitikapproach" in cutting deals and doing "whatever's convenient at the time," Obama said.

The president's comments on Russia were his most extensive since Trump's election in a campaign often influenced by reports of Russian involvement in the hacking of emails from his opponent's campaign and by Trump's own public entreaties to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

They came as Obama stood by his most important Europe…

Kim Kardashian Returns to Instagram After Paris Robbery to Follow Celebs Like Paris Hilton and Ariana Grande

Kim Kardashian has returned to Instagram… kind of.
The 36-year-old reality star returned to the social media site for the first time since her Paris robbery -- to follow celebrity pals like Paris Hilton, Ariana Grande and Sofia Richie.

With her recent additions, Kardashian now follows 104 people on the social media site, including her famous family and friends like Beyoncé. The Selfish author also returned to Twitter shortly after her robbery at gunpoint, though she only reduced the accounts she was following from 121 to 106.

The former social media maven appeared to post on Facebook on Halloween, though quickly removed her posts.
Kardashian's app, meanwhile, has continued to post new content, with the help of her friends and family.

Brother Rob Kardashian and her assistant, Stephanie Sheppard, both recently shared photos of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star for Halloween.

Though Kardashian appears to be selectively returning to social media, a source told ET last week…

20,000 People Have Donated to Planned Parenthood in Mike Pence's 'Honor'

Planned Parenthood has received 20,000 donations made in the name of Vice President-elect Mike Pence, and thousands of dollars in donations to the group's Indiana organization were made in his "honor" since last week's election, the groups said.
At least 20,000 of more than 128,000 donations received by Planned Parenthood since the election made reference to Pence, Indiana's governor and a former congressman who has been criticized by some for restrictions on abortion, Planned Parenthood's president, Cecile Richards, said Tuesday.

"We will never back down, and we will never stop providing the care our patients need," Richards said.

Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky said it has received "thousands in donations" in the governor's name. It got nearly 1,400 donations totaling more than $25,000 since Nov. 8, the state group said. The idea was helped by social media posts encouraging the donations, it said.

Your new flyover is not exceptional - UK High Commisioner

The United Kingdom’s High Commissioner to Ghana, Mr. Jon Benjamin has implied in a publicly shared tweet that the newly opened Kwame Nkrumah interchange is nothing exceptional, based on his travel experience.

When a Twitter user, @ZimmAconcept mentioned the commissioner in their tweet that said they were looking forward to knowing Mr. Benjamin’s impression about the new flyover, the response was perhaps not what many celebrants (of the latest infrastructure) would have expected.

In related news by rather underwhelmed observers, commentary by award winning Ghanaian journalist, Manasseh Azure on the flyover since its opening has mainly been about Ghanaians’ ability to over play small successes and underplay major problems the country faces.

There have been mixed reactions to the new grand infrastructure that cost the country over Ghc300m (in partnership with the Brazilian government)

While some are of the belief that this new flyover is highly commendable and even elevates the ci…

Adele can't handle a bat flying into her concert

Adele said Hello to a bat that crashed her recent concert in Mexico City, or rather, the singer actually said, “Welcome to Mexico. It’s really good to be here — but a (expletive) bat?”
Yes, apparently even bats are obsessed with Adele's world tour, and when flew into her concert, the singer lost it in the most adorable and British way. She cursed. She screeched. She started flapping around onstage like she was a bat, too.

See for youself

They were my parents’ and I came into the house — then I had a very high-pitched voice — and their ears went like this,” Osbourne, 64, told the ladies of The Talk while she made an upward pointing gesture with her fingers.

“I walked in the door, said hello and bang,” she said and explained that the dogs didn’t know her well.

“The Doberman jumped up and head-butted me — that’s one of the things that they do — and got me down to the ground and they both attacked me,” Osbourne continued.
Fortunately, her mother was home at the time and pulled the two dogs off of her daughter.

The world's earliest-known complete stone inscription of the Ten Commandments, described as a "national treasure" of Israel, sold at auction in Beverly Hills for $850,000.
Heritage Auctions said the two-foot square marble slab sold Wednesday night at a public auction of ancient Biblical archaeology artifacts.

The tablet weighs about 115 pounds and is inscribed in an early Hebrew script called Samaritan.
It likely adorned the entrance of a synagogue that was destroyed by the Romans between A.D. 400 and 600, or by the Crusaders in the 11th century, said David Michaels, Heritage Auctions director of ancient coins and antiquities.
The auction house said the Israeli Antiquities Authorities approved export of the piece to the United States in 2005. The only condition was that it must be displayed in a public museum.

No peace in Ghana until I’m President – Mahama

The presidential candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Dr. Edward Nasigre Mahama, has issued a strong indication that civil disquiet will not cease in Ghana until the citizens cease to be a barrier themselves to a move he says God began in 1996.

Dr. Mahama, who is in his fifth run at 71 for the presidency, said three political leaders- Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor and himself- emerged two decades ago as a complete set of messiahs sent to crack the country’s socio-economic problems in turns.
He said even though Ghanaians allowed both Rawlings and Kufuor their turns to lead the country, the unending denial of his turn to also manage the affairs of the country had been responsible especially for the anxieties and violence often experienced every election year in Ghana. The presidential nominee likened Ghana to a shaky pot sitting on a two-legged tripod and pointed at himself as the ‘missing third leg’ assigned to ensure balance by completing what his …

'Never Ever Give Up': Hillary Clinton Gives First Speech Since Election

Hillary Clinton urged supporters "not to give up" and to "remain engaged in progressive politics" at a charity gala in Washington D.C. Wednesday night.
Her appearance, which aides say was planned long before last week's stunning loss, marked Clinton's first public remarks since conceding the election to President-elect Donald Trump.
Clinton said appearing in public wasn't the easiest thing for her.

"There were a few times this week that I wanted to curl up with a good book or dogs and never get back up again," the former presidential nominee said.

Nevertheless, she attempted to inspire her audience and emphasized a line of Martin Luther King Jr. that is oft quoted by President Barack Obama throughout her speech: "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice."

During the rest of her speech, she emphasized bipartisanship, advocacy, volunteerism and investing in the children of the United States — no matter the…
