A senior official from the president's camp has revealed that Robert Mugabe who is the World's oldest and one of the longest serving Heads of State, will not be contesting in the presidential election in 2018, after he was reportedly advised to drop out of the race by his medical doctors. Although, it’s yet to be officially announced but the unidentified official while explaining the state of the president’s medical records was quoted on ZimNews saying:
‘The President’s medical records are classified and private, I cannot disclose anything, but he (Mugabe) has a clean bill of health at the moment. However he is not going to contest the coming elections, after being told by doctors that the campaigning alone will take a heavy toll on him. You will soon find out for yourselves, but the long and short of it is that he is already out of that race.’  Report also has it that the president, who has endured a cocktail of health woes, including eye cataract problems, reported …

Donald Trump state visit to UK being considered

The UK government is considering inviting US President-elect Donald Trump for a state visit, Downing Street has said.
The Republican, who beat Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the election earlier this month, is due to take office on 20 January.
Earlier this year, MPs debated the idea of banning Mr Trump from the UK.
But the government has stressed the importance of maintaining the "special relationship" between the countries.

Prime Minister Theresa May's official spokeswoman said: "An invitation for a state visit is one of the things that is under consideration following the election of a new US president. One of the issues under consideration is the 2017 state visits."
State visits are formal trips to the UK by foreign heads of state from overseas. There are normally two a year and invitations are sent on the advice of the Foreign Office.

Kanye West cancels remaining dates on Saint Pablo Tour

Kanye West has abruptly pulled the plug on his Saint Pablo Tour.
A representative for the rapper said Monday the remaining dates of West's current tour have been canceled.

No reason was given.

The tour, now in California and with dates through Dec. 31, had future stops in Dallas, Denver, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Detroit, Boston, New York City and Washington, D.C., among others.

The move comes after a complex weekend for the musician, who abruptly ended a concert in Sacramento, California, on Saturday, then canceled a performance Sunday in the Los Angeles area.

Saturday's truncated show became a hot topic on social platforms, as amateur videos circulated of a 10-minute tirade by West about Beyonce, Jay Z, Hillary Clinton, Mark Zuckerberg, the radio and MTV.

Pope extends power to forgive abortion to all Roman Catholic priests

Pope Francis on Monday extended indefinitely to all Roman Catholic priests the power to forgive abortion, a right previously reserved for bishops or special confessors in most parts of the world.
Francis, who has made a more inclusive and forgiving Roman Catholic Church a characteristic of his papacy, made the announcement in a document known as an "apostolic letter" after Sunday's close of the Church's "Holy Year of Mercy."

He said he wanted to "restate as firmly as I can that abortion is a grave sin, since it puts an end to an innocent life" but "there is no sin that God's mercy cannot reach and wipe away when it finds a repentant heart seeking to be reconciled with (God)."

Francis had already temporarily granted the power to all priests to give what is known as "sacramental absolution" for abortion during the Holy Year, from Dec. 8 to Nov. 20, but the solemn tone of his words in Monday's letter suggested that…

Sarkozy concedes in French conservative presidential primary

France's former president Nicolas Sarkozy conceded defeat Sunday in the race to choose the conservative nominee for next year's presidential election.
With more than 3.2 million votes counted from about 80 percent of polling stations, former prime minister Francois Fillon had 44 percent, former prime minister Alain Juppe had 28.1 and Sarkozy had 21.1 percent.
The two candidates confirmed as winning the most votes advance to the Nov. 27 runoff.
In a speech from his campaign headquarters in Paris on Sunday, Sarkozy called on his supporters to vote for Fillon in the second round.

"I did not succeed in convincing a majority of voters. I do respect and understand the will of those (voters) who have chosen for the future other political leaders than me," Sarkozy said.

Fillon has enjoyed a strong boost in popularity in recent weeks thanks to his image of authority and seriousness compared to Sarkozy's more brazen demeanor.
The campaign had been marked by concerns ab…

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson doesn’t regret calling out Vin Diesel in ‘Fast 8’ drama: ‘I was very clear with what I said’

The Rock is cooking up interest for the next “Fast and Furious” flick thanks to his drama with co-star Vin Diesel.
Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson doesn’t seem to regret calling Diesel a “candy a**“ in an Instagram post earlier this year — if anything, he said it only helped the studio drum up interest for the upcoming film.

“I was very clear with what I said. I’ve been in the game a long time,” he told the Los Angeles Times.

“Would Universal (Pictures) have preferred that didn’t happen? Sure, we talked about it. The irony is after that and as they do their tracking and all their analysis, the interest shot through the roof to a whole other level,” he added.

Johnson took to Instagram in August to write that his female co-stars were always amazing, but his male co-stars were a different story.

“Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't,” he wrote “The ones that don't are too chicken s**t to do anything about it anyway. Candy a***s.”

Obama says he may comment as citizen on Trump's presidency

US President Barack Obama has said he may speak out after leaving office if he feels his successor Donald Trump is threatening core American values.
By convention, former presidents tend to leave the political fray and avoid commenting on their successors.
Speaking at a news conference at the Apec summit in Lima, Peru, Mr Obama said he intended to assist Mr Trump and give him time to outline his vision.
But he said that, as a private citizen, he might speak out on certain issues.

"I want to be respectful of the office and give the president-elect an opportunity to put forward his platform and his arguments without somebody popping off," Mr Obama said.
But, he added, if an issue "goes to core questions about our values and our ideals, and if I think that it's necessary or helpful for me to defend those ideals, then I'll examine it when it comes".
The president described himself as an "American citizen who cares deeply about our country".

Ghana’s public debt hits GH¢112 billion as at September 2016

The country’s debt stock has reached GH¢112.4 billion as at September this yeara summary of economic and financial data released by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) has revealed.
This came to the fore after BoG's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) met last week to review the health of the economy.
The new amount, according to the November report shows that from July to September, the public debt has gone up by GH¢6.2 billion.

This is because the last time the Central Bank released the data on these debt stock was up to July 2016.
The increase does not necessarily mean that there have been fresh borrowings by government from July to September.
Other factors like the cedis’ marginal depreciation and possible delays in interest payments could have resulted in the debt numbers recording such a significant increase.
However, there appear to be some discrepancies, with the financial data released by the Bank of Ghana when it comes to the public debt compared its last report issued.

ISIS member linked to the murder of a 'Catholic priest' in France-says ‘beheading 'enemies of Allah’ is a pleasure’

One of the world's most wanted men, Rachid Kassim, has disclosed, beheading his supposedly ‘enemies of Allah’ as one of his pleasures. French-born Kassim, who has been linked to murders of Catholic priest, policeman and partner; gave his first on-the-record interview to a Washington-based academic in the state, which researches jihadism.
In the sensational interview, Rachid Kassim claimed beheading ISIS prisoners was 'a pleasure' and said that the saddest thing about fleeing France for Syria was that of leaving his pet cat behind.

Kassim became one of the world's most wanted men after he was linked to a string of terror attacks in Europe; which includes the murder of a Catholic priest near Normandy in France, and the slaughter of a policeman and his partner near Paris.
According to MailOnline, Kassim released a footage where he praised his attacks and promised more atrocities in France, while beheading a prisoner on the film.
